The Weekend Review - July 20th - July 22nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

Well, I've been gone for a couple of weeks...I was away and now I'm back :)  I had a good, but busy time off.  We were in Florida and had a great time.  Oddly enough, it was warmer here in NY than in Florida.  This weekend we are having an incredible heatwave, but I've been in the a/c so I'm not suffering :)

While I've been gone, I read a few books.  I enjoyed them all.  I must say a "find" for me was the Oceanic Dreams series.  It's a cute romantic series set on a cruise ship.  There are 8 books in the series by different authors and I'm reading them throughout the summer.  I already read the first two and loved them.  I'm looking forward to reading the rest.  They are short "feel good" type of books.

As I have said before, I'm cutting back on blog tour reviews for a short time.  I will be getting back to them eventually but until I'm finished downsizing at home, I think I'll keep my participation to a minimum.  Although I'm still doing many spotlight posts.

I completed two reading challenges, but I haven't written my wrap up posts yet.  So, things are moving along for me as far as the challenges go.  I still need to do some catch up with my Goodreads challenge but I think I will eventually get there.

I haven't been interested in too much TV lately, although I'm all caught up with Big Little Lies.  It's been good and their season finale is tomorrow.

So, what have you all been up to?  Anything exciting happening?

I hope everyone has a great week!

Yvonne

  1. Oh I love the sound of Oceanic Dreams! Sounds really cute. And Mulberry Mischief looks like perfect fall reading. Have a great week!

  2. Our son was down here in Texas with his wife, and he told us it was hotter in Chicago than in Texas! Odd that it was hotter in NY than in Florida.

The Perfect Son looks ominous. What is it about people that appear to be without flaw? Scary!

    Have a great week!

  3. Layover sounds like an interesting book. I like most books that have to do with flights. If you'd like a recommendation, I'd go with the Un-honeymooners.

  6. I have never participated in blog tours. I'm too selfish with my time so I admire those who can do them. My Sunday Salon

  8. Welcome back and I'm glad you had fun in Florida. The ocean breezes and less concrete probably made it cooler here then NY. LOL Loving all of the fun books you shared. The Perfect Son looks killer!
