The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.
Happy Weekend!
It was another good reading week for me. I finished two books - both really good ones. I do like the way I've been mixing up genres between cozy mysteries/romantic suspense/romance/women's fiction/ thrillers...something different all the time. Hopefully it will keep me out of those deadly reading slumps.
TV has come back in full blast, but I've been taking my time watching everything. I figure, what's the rush? LOL It was nice to have This Is Us and New Amsterdam back - I enjoy both of those. The Resident, too, is a favorite of mine. Evil is another good one.
I haven't seen many movies lately. Usually I like to watch all the Oscar nominated shows before the awards air, but I don't see that happening for me this year. That's okay because none of the movies have been calling out to me. I did see The Irishman and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. Both were good.
I managed to unpack a few more boxes and found some of my clothes that I've been looking for. So, I've been doing a lot of laundry to freshen everything up, but it's nice to have more clothes around :)
Other than that, it's been quiet. How was your week? See any good movies/TV or read anything good? I hope you all have a great week!
Yvonne

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.
I've been pleasantly surprised to find that 2020 is a good reading year. I'm reading just what I want and I'm dropping it if it isn't working for me. I've got a ridiculously tall stack of books to draw from, so that helps, too. I'm pretty sure that mixing it up is helpful, too.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many cozy mysteries/romantic suspense/romance/women's fiction/thrillers you have read in your life. I would guess that you have read more cozies alone than most people have read in books during their entire life. Do you find that cozies are your favorites? Have you seen any changes in your reading preferences over the years?
We are making our way through Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. We also discovered a show called Portlandia.
Have a lovely week!
I do find that cozy mysteries are my favorite genre, but romantic suspense is right up there too. As for my reading preferences, yes definite changes. I used to love sweet romances, but now I can't really read many of those.
DeleteMy husband and I are still watching Monk, I’m currently binging Covert Affairs for the zillionth time and I can’t wait until Picard streams later this week!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
Happy reading! We like to watch the Oscar movies before they come out too. We've seen Ford v Ferrari and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - both good. I'm hoping to see 1917 in the next week or two.

We want to see The Irishman but just haven't gotten to it yet. We have been binge-watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine because I get we need the silliness with everything going on in the world.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying my reading so far, but my movie watching is mostly from Amazon Prime or Netflix. I haven't been to the theater since I've been here.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're finding more of your things! I'm still trying to gather a few more things around me, some of which are in my daughter's friend's garage. Lol.
Enjoy your week!
A quiet week is a good week. It's certainly good to get things all unpacked and find things. I really like the mixing of genres. The only thing I can read all the time is mystery / thrillers.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week and enjoy your reads!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I usually don't watch the Oscars because I never agree with the movies they choose to win when there were better movies out there that deserved the award. But, it would be interesting to see who wins this year!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

I somehow missed Evil but I do want to watch it. It looks so good! I've been getting caught up on NCIS and my reading in general. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI like to mix up the genres too- definitely keeps things fresh. And I don't think I've seen any of the Oscar nominated shows this year. My movie watching is down so much!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea was was even nominated. I only saw a film or two last year. My weekly update
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you enjoyed your reading. I’m bad at watching TV and movies. I never know the shows that people are talking about. I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I used to make a point of seeing all the best picture nominations, but now I only get to the movie theater if we're seeing a Marvel movie--although I did recently see Little Women and loved it.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot of show/movie watching for me lately. Charmed just came back from a break, but I didn't see it yet. My hubby is into all those true crime shows on the ID network. Sometimes I watch with him.
ReplyDeleteNice list of books. The Nantucket Inn might interest me.
Have a good week.

Being able to have a variety of reading genres certainly does help the reading to be really enjoyed. I don't watch many movies but occasionally do. The Irishman is on Netflix I think so maybe.
ReplyDeleteMixing up the genres is a strong plan.
ReplyDeleteI was interested to see the mention of Kate Collins. I used to read the Flower Shop mysteries a long time ago!
I think The Third to Die is on my list too. I haven't seen any of the award movies! I tend to wait and rent what everyone has recommended ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to mix up my reading a little more but it seems like everything I've enjoyed has been a variety of mystery. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of those shows you watch so glad you are enjoying them. You have some good looking books coming up to read hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteUgh! I want to read them all!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!💜
Glad you had a good reading week!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen too many movies lately either... There are so many I want to see piling up! Same with TV shows... Just not enough time in the day!
