He’s convinced there is more here than meets the eye and Nina might not be as insane as everyone thinks. He vows not to stop searching until he can give Nina some kind of closure, whether it’s good news or bad.

Together Nina and Slade search for answers and slowly uncover secrets that were supposed to be left hidden. Things take a dangerous turn and Slade does all he can to protect Nina, a woman he has fallen in love with. He’ll protect her from anyone including her own father.

I absolutely loved this book! I read it in one day. I don’t know if anyone realizes just how good the Harlequin Intrigue line is. It’s almost like a cozy mystery series…some romance and much mystery all tossed together in one nice package. I’m usually a stickler to read series books in order and “Unbreakable Bond” is the third book of Ms. Herron’s Guardian Angel Investigation. It didn’t ruin things at all for me, especially since the other characters were all secondary in this story. This book was about Nina and Slade. Although I do plan to read the first two books as I really enjoyed this author’s writing style.



Since I was crying at the end of the book, as well as disappointed that it was over, I’m giving it one of my Socrates’ Great Book Alerts. You never know where or when you’ll find a “gem-to-you” book.

My review…

I enjoyed this quick read. I love holiday books and this one was fun. The characters were all well developed, especially when you realize how show each story is. Still, I felt as if readers could really get to know these delightful characters and cheer for them to get their midnight kiss.

I haven’t really been reading many romances lately, but this was well worth it. It would even make a nice stocking stuffer! Three great authors in one delicious book? What else can a romance reader ask for?

This week's question...

When you travel, how many books do you bring with you?
Has this changed since the arrival of ebooks?

My answer...


I used to bring around 10 paperbacks for a week's travel. No, I didn't read 10 books in the week, but my argument was I needed a choice. Since I'm a moody reader, what if I wasn't in the mood to read the books I brought along. LOL Then, what happens if you get stuck waiting at an airport and you have no books? Horrors! No way would I pay the very high prices of books at an airport when I have a mountainous TBR at home.

I've had my ereader since March and we've been away a couple of times already and my habits have definitely changed. All I take is my Nook which has over 400 books on it. I'll definitely be able to find something to meet my every mood. LOL It's easier to pack and I feel like I'm carrying around my entire TBR at all times. There's a strange sort of comfort in that - my husband thinks I'm crazy and perhaps I am - but he doesn't like to read, so what does he know?

This week’s musing asks…

What’s your favorite “cozy” book — and, by that, I’m meaning “curl-up-on-a-cold-day comfort read“? Or, if you don’t have a particular book, what genre do you most feel like reading when the weather starts to turn colder?

My answer...

It's not a particular book for me, it's a specific genre. I love my cozy mysteries. They always make me want to cuddle up with a cup of hot chocolate under the blankets in bed. I read them throughout the year, but winter, in particular, always feels like the perfect time to read them to me.

The other type would have to be a romance, but it would have to be one that is set during a storm or set during the winter. Those give me "warm fuzzies" too.
