This week's question...
Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about your bookshelf…
With the holiday season now upon us, have you left any hint – subtle or otherwise – for books family and friends might buy you for Christmas? Do you like to receive books, or do you prefer certificates so you can choose your own?
This one is easy, if anyone is going to get me a book-related gift, a gift certificate is the best. Not only can I get whatever I want, but it's an excuse to browse my favorite bookstores. Nothing makes me happier than browsing the aisles and seeing what's new and exciting.
I've been given books, as gifts, in the past and they always seem to be books I either have already or have no interest in. I always felt books were a person type of gift because everyone has different tastes.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

yes, I agree that the great part of a gift card for a bookstore is not only can you pick exactly what you want but spending the time looking around the store with that card in your pockets is like another whole gift.
ReplyDeleteTrue! And I always spend way more than the amount of my gift card!
ReplyDeleteI find it so relaxing to walk up and down the aisles.
ReplyDeleteYes nothing is more peaceful than a bookstore. I noticed that bookstores esp. those with reading sections provide that peaceful silence that I usually can't find at home.
ReplyDeleteI really really love books and bookstores. And book blogs :) Really really very very.
I prefer gift certificates!

Gift cards to bookstores are definitely safer, that's for sure. Occasionally it's fun to receive a surprise book. If my family asks, I'm happy to name a few titles I wouldn't mind receiving, but they so rarely get me books or even book related gifts. That is, other than my husband and brother-in-law who know how much I like getting a bookstore gift card. :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree, gift cards for the book store always come in handy!

I agree too. Unless poeple know I want a specific book, it's better to get me gift cards, as I've so many books and certain tastes.
ReplyDeleteJust gone through your blog "Musing Mondays - Gifts for the booklover" and found it to be wonderful. Gift card for book lover is a wonderful Christmas gift so that they can buy the book of their taste.
