December and 2014 Wrap Up
Labels:
2015,
monthly reads
December is over and 2014 is over! It's hard to believe, but true. First, my December wrap up...here are the books I read during the month...
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica (Audio)
Meow If It's Murder by T.C. LoTempio
Christmas at Carriage Hill by Carla Neggers
If The Walls Could Talk by Juliet Blackwell (Audio)
Mistletoe in Manhattan by Talli Roland
Geared for the Grave by Duffy Brown
Buried in A Book by Lucy Arlington
In Hot Water by J.J. Cook
A New Year's Surprise by Lisa J. Crane
9 books for the month. Not bad.
Now, to wrap up 2014....
I participated in the Goodreads challenge, which I love because they keep count of the number of books I read for me :) I read 108 books, my goal was 100 so I did well with that and signed up for 2015 with a goal of 100 books again. I decided to keep my goal the same since last year I wasn't working for half the year and this year I hope to be working the whole year.
As far as other challenges go, I completed ten challenges in 2014. A few I quit mid-way through the year. This year, I joined 5, plus I host 3 that I'm also participating in. So, that makes 8 reading challenges for 2015, but I might just one or two others that I saw that look like fun.
Here's a breakdown of the different genres I read throughout the year...
Cozy Mystery - 72 books
Suspense/Thrillers - 13 books
Romance - 14 books
Non-Fiction - 6 books
Fiction - 3
I guess it's kind of obvious which is my preferred genre. LOL I don't see that changing, but I would like to mix it up a bit more. It's hard for me to pick a favorite book because there were so many of them. I've been reading so many wonderful cozy mystery series and "discovering" new-to-me authors. I'm looking to more great books in 2015.
I'm not sure what 2015 will bring, but I plan to continue participating in the memes I'm already part of -
The Sunday Post/Sunday Salon/Stacking the Shelves
What Are You Reading Mondays?
Teaser Tuesdays/First Chapter Tuesdays
Waiting on Wednesday
Cat Thursdays
The Friday 56
Friday Fill In Blog Hop
As I've already said in the past few weeks, I'll be cutting back on blog tours but not completely. I have several scheduled and I'm looking forward to them.
I'm looking forward to continue blogging and visiting everyone else's blogs, too!
Happy 2015!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

Good month in books for sure! Happy 2015 reading!
ReplyDeleteYou had a great month and year...and you did great on your challenges, too.
ReplyDeleteI decided to do 100 books on Goodreads. Last year it was 150 and I exceeded it; the year before, it was 200, and I exceeded it. But I felt pressured. So lowering my number!
You had a good month and a good year. Cutting back on challenges and blog tours sounds like a good idea. I'm trying to do both also.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
