First Chapter Tuesday/Teaser Tuesday - January 22nd

Every Tuesday Vicki at I'd Rather Be At the Beach hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm still reading this one this week.

First Chapter... (Since I used the first two chapters in my Friday post, I'm posting the next couple from the first chapter.)

Michael and I sat on the couch, knees inches apart but not daring to touch.  He raised his hand to place a reassuring palm on my shoulder, and I involuntarily flinched.  He stopped, pretended to examine his wedding band, and then lowered the hand back to his lap.  I pretended not to notice.

Why hadn't we gotten this over with on Monday?

We'd waited three extra days this time, in superstitious agreement that if we pretended to have more patience, the outcome would be different.

It wouldn't.

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  1. Now I am definitely curious. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “UNTOUCHABLE”

  2. I want to start this series this year. And, yes, I'm definitely curious as to what's going on.

  3. I'd keep reading. Wondering what outcome they were hoping for. My Teaser

  4. Several questions come from that first paragraph. I need to keep going. Btw, you win the best cover art award!

  5. I have a few books in this series but haven't started it yet. It sounds like a good cozy and I love the yoga angle!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
