The Weekend Review - January 25th - 27th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

It's been pretty busy on my blog with blog tours.  I don't know what I was thinking signing up for so many, but February is almost fully booked.  At least they aren't all for reviews.  They all look like good books, too.

This is my first winter in my new house and Florida has been chilly this week, for Florida.  It feels fine to me since I'm from New York and used to snow by this time of year.

There's a huge Barnes Noble less than 5 minutes away from here. It's been a long time since I've been to a real bookstore since I'm mainly an e-reader now. I almost forgot about that "new book" smell. The fun part, for me, was seeing some books I reviewed with quotes from me on them. I've seen the books before, but it's different seeing them on the shelves in a real bookstore. I almost felt like I was a published author seeing my words on book covers and inside the books. I kept pulling the books off the shelf to show my husband. He was mildly impressed :) I know, I'm a big baby. LOL

I've already become hooked on the new TV show 911 Lonestar.  I have to catch up with Station 19 and Grey's Anatomy.  They returned this week and are on my DVR.  I think those are the only shows I have to watch.  I've found that I have more reading time since I've moved.  You will hear no complaints from me - I'm enjoying my books.

Other than that, it's the same old here.  What's going on in your part of the world?  I hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  1. I just went to Barnes and Noble yesterday. I bought some kitty Christmas cards for 75% off. I like to see what books are new and make a list to get them from the library :) XO

  2. Oh, I didn't know you'd been quoted. That's fantastic! I hope you took pics.

I laughed at your tour comment. I have done that before. Hopefully, it will all work out.

Happy reading and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  3. I bet you are excited to see your reviews on the covers of books. You should feel very proud.

I hope you are enjoying the Florida winter. I'm sure it's very different for you. I can't imagine a snowy winter but I have a friend who fell into a state of depression when her husband was transferred down here along the Texas Gulf Coast, away from her Michigan snow.

I like to stay busy, so I tend to sign up for too many things. But I like it that way. Usually.

    Have a great week!

  4. I’m always thrilled to be quoted in a book!
I haven’t started Lonestar yet, though I will. I did watch the first episode of Picard though, and am eager for me!

Wishing you a great reading week

  5. I wish I had a bookstore near my house. I usually can’t afford new books, but I’d be there all the time to sniff them. :)

  9. Oh fun about the quotes! I know there are a few books out there with quotes from me but I need to go find them. I don't think I could live anywhere with lots of snow. I love a nice mild winter! Have a great week!

  12. I remember the first time I saw myself quoted in a book; it was such a thrill. That's great you were able to see those and I love browsing at a store.

I've tried really hard not to do as many tours and I mostly only do one as a review. I'm trying to read more of what I own but right now I have a ton of great library books. It's a mild winter here and I'm happy with it.

Have a lovely week and happy reading.
