The Weekend Review - June 27th-29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  It's hot and humid here with COVID-19 on the rise.  We are breaking all kinds of records for new cases.  Not a good thing...more and more it feels like this will never end.

I only finished one book this week and it was one of my new favorites.  For some strange reason I overbooked myself with blog tours and reviews.  I think I just got lockdown crazy and wanted more to do.  I'm sure it will all work out :)

I'm not doing much as far as watching TV and/or movies go.  Theoretically I should have more reading time, but it hasn't been working out that way.

It's been pretty quiet around here.   How is it in your part of the world?

I hope you all have a great week!  Stay safe!

  1. We're sticking closer to home this weekend too. Our area is seeing it's biggest spikes since April :(

  2. We are seeing an increase in the number of cases here but nowhere near the numbers you are seeing in America. We did go for a drive in the country today. It was so good to get out and do something interesting for a while, but we will now pretty much go back into social isolation. Have a good week.

  3. One of our friends is having a retirement party but after much thought I think we are going to have to pass. Our area is spiking, too.

Is Paris Is Always a Good Idea a good idea? I can't wait to hear what you think.

You certainly do have a lot of books in the queue. I keep waiting to hear that we are shutting things down, and the first to go will be curbside at my library, I'm sure.

  4. We have been staying in except for grocery shopping. Numbers seem to be rising- Books about Paris seem to be popular this week..

  5. My reading/reviewing schedule is getting crazy too! Publishers certainly never stopped working ;) But it's a great problem to have! If I can just stay focused, reading is a great distraction from our crazy reality :D Stay healthy!

  6. I’m so behind on my schedule but I’ve done little but binge watch TV for a few weeks, I’ve gotten through all the available episodes for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD.

Wishing you a great reading week, stay well

  8. So many books so little time. Eek! I'd say that fits for you. I too am going crazy reading seven books at the same time. It is crazy to even try. My Sunday Salon is full of good news

  9. We had a heatwave here too, but luckily it's cooled down in the last day. I wish you some of our cooling breeze! And I hope you get more time to read!

    My weekly roundup!

  10. I'm the same way! I keep thinking I should have MORE reading time with everything going on, staying in more, but I seem to be reading LESS. And yes it does feel like things are getting worse again with the spike in new cases. So much for things dying down by summer, unfortunately...

Be well and take care !

  12. We've had a rise in new cases too since they decided to start reopening businesses. They had some events scheduled for the holiday and now they've had to cancel them.

  13. He Started It is one I've been waiting for...it seems like forever!

I also want to read The Request.

I cringe when I heard the stats on cases in Florida and other states. I am sure you are staying in and staying safe.

    Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  14. Our cases are still going down but I'm content with staying home. Paris Is Always a Good Idea is coming up soon on my reading stack. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. I hope all your reading does pan out, only do what you can. I chose The Friendship List blog tour too as I like her books usually. Take clear of the virus, so sorry it is so rampant near you.

  17. I can definitely relate to having a hard time reading AND to feeling like this pandemic might never end. It's hard to even imagine going back to normal at this point.
