Synopsis from Goodreads:

Hayden fell through a mirror and was thrust into an alternate, magical place. Destiny Falls is home to a family she never knew she had. The town is enchanted and charming, but something is amiss. Then someone turns up dead, and there are a series of suspicious episodes. All signs point to the disappearance of her mother – way back when Hayden was just two days old. Can she eliminate the threat before another person in her life is stolen away?

My Review

It’s been a month since Hayden Caldwell found herself transported to Destiny Falls, where anything can happen.  It’s been a magical time for Hayden in more than one way.  She is reunited with the family she never knew about and the town has real magic.  It’s so magical that Hayden can now verbally communicate with her cat, who was transported along with her.  Hayden misses the family and friends she left behind, but she’s also curious about her new surroundings.

When Hayden and her family receive a deadly warning, she’s determined to keep her new found family safe.  She secretly starts up her own investigation but when a body turns up dead, she realizes this is more than she can handle.  She can’t help wonder if this has anything to do with the mother who abandoned her when she was a baby.

I was so happy to take another visit to Destiny Falls.  It sounds like such a mystical and carefree place.  Hayden and her family are so likeable.  Hayden is becoming a well-rounded character who I’ve really come to care about.  Of course the story gets extra points for having cats be part of the main storyline :)

This is the second book in the series.  It picks up right where the first one left off.  I suggest reading this series in order to appreciate the characters and the circumstances Hayden finds herself in.  It’s a heartwarming, sweet, enchanting combination of a paranormal and a cozy mystery.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Hayden’s relationship with her father and new siblings  develop.  I just can’t get enough of this charming series.
