First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros/Teaser Tuesdays - October 19th

It's Tuesday!  It's time to share your excerpts and teasers from books we are currently reading, have read or are planning to read.  So, feel free to join us by sharing the first paragraph or (a few) of a book you are reading or thinking about reading soon.  This meme is guaranteed to increase your TBR :)

Please link your blog post using Mr. Linky below. Make sure the link you enter is the direct link to your Tuesday post, not the main link to your blog. Thank you!

I, also, participate and link up to Teaser Tuesdays.  Here's info about that meme:

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, now being hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read

* Open to a random page

* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This is next on my list to read.  The excerpts are from the E-ARC.

First Chapter...

It all started with a little innocent flirting.

Teaser...

For more than nine months, from January well into October, Payton had stuck with her plan to avoid men altogether.  Yes, she'd been tempted more than once by a sexy smile or a smoldering pair of bedroom eyes.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

She thought she knew everything she needed to know about him in New York Times bestselling author Christine Rimmer's first book in the brand-new Wild Rose Sisters series!

How do you make up for four years of lost time?

No last names. No promises to meet again. No way for Payton Dahl to find the man who’s the father of her twin boys. Until fate reunites them four years later. Easton Wright now wants to be part of his sons’ lives—with the woman he fell hard for during those seven days and nights of bliss. Payton doesn’t want her sons to grow up fatherless like she did, but can she risk trusting Easton when she’s been burned in the past?

What do you think? Would you keep reading?

  2. I was kind of addicted to Rimmer when I was in college. She was my guilty pleasure between text books!

    A deadly antiquity

Few would guess that Luna and Cullan Bodman are siblings. Cullan is efficient and serious while his younger sister Luna is a free spirit. When the two launch their furniture restoration shop/cafĂ©—an offshoot of the family’s antique business—in an up-and-coming arts center, little do they know their unique talents may be their only defense in a matter of life and death.

When Luna gets a strange sense about a piece Cullan just acquired, the two find themselves uniting to solve a mystery that has far-reaching consequences—never knowing there are some who’ll stop at nothing to claim what they believe is theirs. Despite their differences, Luna and Cullan know they can rely on each other—and this time, their lives may depend on it… Credit: Literary Guild

  5. Interesting. I'm not usually a fan of romances involving pregnancy but this doesn't sound like there was any deceit involved and I like the sound of the first paragraph.
