My Review

Following a messy divorce, neurologist Chloe Bailey has a one night stand with a handsome surgeon.  She never thought she’d see him again, so she figured it was safe.  Then, she receives an exciting new assignment in Jamaica and comes face to face with her mystery man, Sam Powell.

Sam and Chloe try to stay away from each other but when Chloe discovers she’s pregnant after their one night stand, everything changes.  Chloe doesn’t expect a long term relationship with the man, but she knows he wants to be a father to their child and she won’t deny him that.

As Sam and Chloe battle their past demons, they find themselves being drawn closer and closer.  How much longer can they keep their distance?

This is a delightful medical romance.  I loved these two characters.  Their emotions were genuine.  I, also, appreciated that the author didn’t make this into a secret baby story.  Chloe told Sam about the baby right from the start and they worked through their issues together with a few obstacles along the way.

Jamaica is the perfect setting.  It’s been awhile since I visited the island and wish I could go back there soon.  Armchair traveling is the next best thing.

This is the first book in a series that is written by different authors.  It doesn’t seem as if they are connected or need to be read in order.  I do have the next one already on my Kindle waiting for me.

It looks to be a fun series set around the Christmas holidays.  This one was really charming with realistic characters.  A "feel good" story to make you smile.

 About the Author

I was born in the tropics, Jamaica to be precise, lived in the frozen North (Ontario, Canada) for a number of years, and now reside in sunny central Florida with my husband. I'm a proud Mama to three grown children, love tea, crafting, animals (except reptiles!), bacon, and the ocean. I firmly believe in the power of romance to heal, inspire and provide hope in our complex world.
