The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
Hello from very wet South Florida! We've been under a tropical storm warning since Friday morning. We've already had about 6 inches of rain and more expected today. That means it's a stay-at-home day for me. You'd think I would get plenty of reading done, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Probably because I'm hanging around the computer too much. LOL
I finished two books this week, but I'm still falling behind. I've been wanting to read Jiggered by Gin but I've been trying to meet blog tour review deadlines, so that's been pushed back. Still, I will be getting to it. I just need to really try to cut back on review tours. I know I always say that, but I'm really trying not to accept everything that looks so good.
I've been catching up with some shows like Star Trek: Discovery and Strange New Worlds. Both are good. Also, Evil. We watched the first season last year and are now binging the second. Aside from baseball, I haven't been watching much else on TV.
Lately I've been getting more and more spam comments, which is why I'm leaving them on moderated status. Question for those of you with Blogger - do you use Diquis for comments? Does it cost anything just to use it for comments? Does it help with spam? I'm thinking of switching over to use that for my comments.
Nothing else is new from here. I hope you all have a great week!
Hi - this is my first week joining the Sunday Post/Salon and Stacking the Shelves - I now see that many bloggers do a single post and combine all the info.....that's what I'll do next week. How did you get so many freebies from Amazon? I just get my once/month First Reads offer. If you'd like to see my first week (which I realize I compiled incorrectly -oops), it's here: https://www.bookshelfjourneys.com/post/TBR-may-2022
ReplyDeleteHi Terrie! Welcome! There really is no right or wrong way to do it. Whatever feels best for you. As for Amazon freebies, I belong to several different newsletters that have freebies everyday. Also, they are often mentioned on Facebook when a book is free. I hope you have fun exploring book blogs!
DeleteHi there Yvonne! Spam mail has seriously increased lately! I delete at least 20 every day. It's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here with us and I also want to go and snuggle and read now. Get off the computer. Go read. I'm going to do it....! LOL!!
Have a good week and happy reading!
Elza Reads
Ha! Getting off the computer to read is an art I haven't learned yet. LOL
DeleteI also downloaded Marrying Mr. Darcy this week. Mr. Perfect on Paper looks cute too. I don't use Diquis and I don't get a lot of spam comments...Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading both of them. Have a great week!
DeleteSorry to hear about your tropical storm warning. We've been finally getting tropical weather this week and it is fabulous. I haven't snuggled to read this week but Loved Mr. Darcy, a book blogger recommended it to me as well.
ReplyDeleteI was falling behind on books this week too! Even though I should have just sat at my desk and read since I had nothing to do really but still had to be there. Hope you stay safe in the storms down there!

Your cozies have such interesting titles and covers! Enjoy! Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
ReplyDeleteIt’s raining here too, but that is because winter has arrived!
ReplyDeleteI caught up on Strange New World last night and I’m enjoying it!
Wishing you a great reading week, and better weather
I look forward to your thoughts on Bayou Book Thief. I am still in the middle of the Cajun Country series, but am really liking it.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a drier week!
I used to live in the Panhandle of Florida, and I know what you are going through with hurricane season. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI'm saying no to just about all review book requests. It seems like the requests I get are for fantastic titles, but I am already to busy trying to read the books I already have.
ReplyDeleteI use Disqus and I like it a lot. I started using it after I saw Helen of Helen's Book Blog and Anne of My Head is full of books using it successfully. I feel like I get the chance to really talk to others since I've been using it.
I'm curious about DIsquis but not enough to fully investigate. Anything that would help with those annoying spam comments would be amazing. I'm starting Bayou Book Thief soon and I can't wait! I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather doesn't get too rough! I want to start that new star Trek series. And sunshine Haven looks fun.
ReplyDeleteI've thought about switching to Disqus too. Especially since lately it seems like some comments on my blog are just randomly going to spam and it's driving me nuts. I don't know what Blogger did (or even if it's Blogger)...
My husband really likes Evil. I've seen a couple of episodes and it's really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI really like Disquis. I haven't switched, but I like commenting on blogs that use it.
My Sunday Post
We are currently binging Bosch's new season, but the Star Treks are on our list. We saw season 1 of Evil, but found it a bit too evil to watch season 2. Have a great week! XO
ReplyDeleteStay safe from the storm! Hopefully you can get some reading in. I know I'm distracted by my phone and computer too much as well! Looks like you've got some great cozy mysteries there.
ReplyDeleteI find I read more when I can sit in the sun, and rainy weather can be a bit off putting for my reading. I switched to wordpress so spam comments seem to get caught. What a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fascinating stack of reading!
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking of you with all the rain. Hope it ends soon.
ReplyDeleteAll your books look great. I hear you when it comes to book tours. Every year say I will reduce the tours I take part in, but then I don't really. It's why my TBR pile remains huge.
Hope you enjoy your week.

Meant to mention that I don't do anything special for comments except go into my settings and have posts older than 5 days be moderated. It's usually my older posts that get the spam.
ReplyDeleteI liked Bayou Book Thief and hope you do too. We haven't had much rain this past week but it has been chilly. I haven't noticed any change in Spam with Blogger. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather improves for you.
ReplyDeleteI love all your book covers, cute!
