Book Beginnings on Fridays/The Friday 56 - November 18th

This is a fun meme to do hosted by Freda's Voice. If you'd like to join on the fun go to The Friday 56.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Link it here.

It's that simple.

I'm also joining in Book Beginnings on Friday. It's hosted by Rose City Reader

This is the first book in the Treasure Seeker Beach series.  I read the prequel a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.  Now I'm enjoying the first book.  It's a short one and part of a continuing series.

First Chapter

Annie had just finished setting the table under the gazebo at the end of their dock. It overlooked the lazy river where rays of silver from the full moon staring down at it glistened across its surface.  She hadn't had time to cook, instead, she had ordered Roger's favorite meal from the Italian restaurant in the village...

From 56% on my e-reader...

Annie was tired and not in the mood for a barbecue, but her father was so excited about having her and his grandchildren home he'd invited nearly everyone he knew.

What do you think?  What are you sharing today?

  1. I like how detailed the writing is, especially for the beginning. It really set the scene. Have a great weekend!

  2. That opening sounds rather relaxing, actually. I think I'd like to settle in that setting for a week or two.

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
