The Weekend Review - January 13th-15th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well with all the different weather conditions around the world.  It's rainy and dreary in Florida, but I can't complain when I hear about all the storms everywhere.

I only finished one book this week, but it was a good one.  My first two full length books of 2024 were both 5 stars.  The one I'm currently reading is great too.  Fortunately, I'm picking really good books, so far.

My regular TV shows begin, I think, in the next couple of weeks.  So, I continue with Game of Thrones for now.

I have an e-book giveaway going on this week.  Check it out here

Nothing exciting happened this week.  I'm okay with that :) I hope you all have a great week!

Here's my reading list through January.  As always, this list is subject to change due to my mood (and other deadlines). 😁

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  2. A non-exciting week is definitely a good thing sometimes, heh. May it continue! At least rainy and dreary weather makes for good reading time...

  3. I added Deadly to the Core to my TBR. I loved Front Page Murder (same author, different pen name--Joyce St Anthony). There are two and I am always checking to see if there will be more. I grabbed Murder at the Mine too!

  4. I like quiet weeks. Glad it's not quite so cold in your part of the world.

    Enjoy your books!

  5. Yes... it's been rainy and gloomy here - which I also won't complain about, given that we've also escaped the terrible floods that have recently blighted folks further north. I hope the great reading streak continues, Yvonne.

  6. It's wet and dreary here, too - but I'm not going to moan too much given what other folks are enduring. Glad to hear the reading is going so well - I hope it continues:)).

  8. We've had a lot of wind and some rain. Yesterday it was so cold (for us Californians, lol) that I didn't even go outside!

I surprised myself by reading two books, and one was a 400n page NetGalley ARC...but both books were awesome.

Enjoy your week! Here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  13. I'm glad you enjoyed your book this week. Sometimes I'd rather have rain and other times I'd rather have snow. If the snow went away like the rain did, I'd like snow more because you don't get wet when you go outside. But, snow is much colder and worse to drive in.

  15. Excitement can be overrated. It's super cold but we did have lots of sunshine today. Of course in the winter clear skies mean cold evenings.

  16. It's nice when the choices all work out to be good ones.

  17. It is crazy cold here in Michigan! I like it though, even if I am in the minority! I'm happy to hear that you have read five star books so far! I've only finished one book but it was a very strong 4. I'll take it! Have a wonderful reading week!

  21. We're looking and feeling like winter here. We got about 7 inches of snow on 5 snowy days last week. Now the cold arrives! -31F windchill as I'm writing this. I've been staying indoors reading and listening. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
