The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
January is just flying by. I can't believe it's the third week of the month already.
I only finished one book this week. My current read is taking me longer than I thought it would, but I should be finished soon.
Anyone having problems with spammers lately? This week has been particularly bad for me and very annoying. I wanted to change over my comments to Disquis but I couldn't import my comments for some reason. When I installed it, it deleted all my comments. When I try the import, it just says error and I'm getting nowhere. I was even thinking about switching over to Wordpress. Is that any better with spam?
Not too much else going on around here. They are saying Florida may get some snow next week, but it's not my area and it doesn't sound like very much.
So, what's going on in your part of the world? Read or watch anything good? I hope everyone has a great week!
It took me hours, maybe days, to figure out how to add Disqus to my blog. I like it. I feel like I can discuss things a little more. Sometimes. I think you can also switch to approve every comment on Blogger.
ReplyDeleteWe might get snow here, too.
It's just really cold her in Illinois, but later in the week it's supposed to be above freezing, so I'll take that! I look forward to hearing what you think of your current read!
ReplyDeleteThe spammers have slacked off (for now) to my blog. Hopefully you get things sorted out. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI had a terrible time with spammers before I started moderating all comments. It's a bit more work, but I most of the spammers have given up at last!
ReplyDeleteI use WordPress (the .org self-hosted version, not the one at wordpress.com.) I use an Akismet plugin to stop spam. Akismet is pretty effective, but I don't know if you can use it on Blogger. And it's not free, but the subscription isn't expensive.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting snow here (Virginia) now.
I don't have troubles with spam, but I have so many other technical glitches with Wordpress.
ReplyDeleteI've got She Doesn't Have a Clue on my radar. I also ran into a book that kind of slowed me down this week. I was enjoying it, I think I just found other things to do besides read. You can have some of my snow if you want.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes get spam comments, but I haven't in a while. Of course, now that I've said that I expect to get more. Lol. Have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't had much spam lately, but it comes and goes. She Doesn't Have a Clue looks like a fun read.
ReplyDeleteI just have the WP free version and I find it very good at managing SPAM.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy reading week
As a reader, I’m not a fan of Disquis. Whenever it emails me that I have a reply I have to click on the link and go to a webpage to see it and then there’s not a way for me to reply back that I’ve seen. However, I don’t really have an issue with spammers because my blog is too new. All of your books look great! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSpam is a constant problem for me. I want to switch to Wordpress too. Blogger has been on my nerves for a long time. :)
ReplyDeleteBummer about the spammers. Seems my blogs go through spurts. I have a WP and Blogger blogs. The nice thing with WP is it tends to put the unknown stuff in its own place. On Blogger, I moderate comments on posts over 10 days old. It's the older ones that tend to get hit on my blogs.
ReplyDeleteSnow arrived in Massachusetts over night, and cold weather is right behind it. We won't be out of the teens until Thursday.
Great books this week. Hope you enjoy them.

I just checked my Spam folder and found posts from people who are my friends. Nothing I had to delete this time. She Doesn't Have a Clue is the one book I marked DNF recently. I lost patience with it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI went to moderate all comments years ago and haven't looked back because of the spammers. They do seem to come in spurts when I end up deleting more than other times. I can relate to your annoyance of spammers! She Doesn't Have a Clue looks so cute. I hope you are enjoying it! I'm really curious about Let's Call Her Barbie and look forward to reading your thoughts on that one. I hope you have a great week, Yvonne!
ReplyDeleteIt did snow here, we hope it goes soon.
ReplyDeleteSpam seems to come in waves, they do, then they don't, then they do again. I think it's going to be that way no matter what.
This month is going really fast! The pictures of the snow in Florida this week were wild!
