Sunday/Monday Posts - January 3rd and 4th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Sunday and Happy 2016!

Happy New Year Everyone!  It's hard to believe but we are already beginning a brand new year.  I hope this year is everything you want it to be.

I tried not to be too busy on the blog the last couple of weeks of 2015, but as I write this post, I see that I've been as busy as usual.  I did manage to finish a couple of books and reach my Goodreads reading goal for 2015.  Now, it's onto 2016's challenge.

Reading has been good since all my TV shows ended their mid-season runs, but they will begin again starting this week.  I did watch a couple of shows on Netflix - The 100 and Wentworth.  I hadn't heard of any of these shows until I browsed through Netflix's selections.  These two shows are excellent.  The 100 begins their new season in January.  I'm not sure about Wentworth, but I still have one more season to watch anyway.  It's similar to Orange is the New Black, but I actually like Wentworth even more.  It's a much more serious show than Orange, though.  It might not be for everyone.

I'm looking forward to beginning new reading challenges, hosting new blog tours and catching up on my reviews.  I'm still working hard to get my NetGalley ratio to 80%, but it's not easy.

Hope you all have a great first week in the new year and read many great books!

Yvonne

  3. Happy New Year! I can't wait for my shows to come back on though I did get to enjoy some good Christmas shows on hallmark while they were doing reruns. Also can't wait for all my hallmark mysteries to air their newest movie...love how all these cozy mysteries are on there now. :)

  5. I am eager for my favorite shows to come back, but I love having Netflix in the meantime. I did notice Wentworth...now I'm going to check it out. I'm at loose ends there, and just watched movies yesterday. I finished The West Wing and need something new to binge on...LOL.

Love the look of Stabbing in the Senate.

  6. Happy New Year! I'll have to check out Wentworth, I loved OITNB.
I don't think I'll ever get my NetGalley ratio up to 80% because many of the books I requested expired before I could read and review them.

  7. Finding Ghosts and A Talent for Murder look good. I might check out Wentworth as I'm always looking for new shows.

  8. I hadn't heard of Wentworth but now I'm curious. I've been watching a good bit of Netflix and Hulu which hasn't been particularly great for my reading! I'm excited to see you have a J.J. Cook book coming up. That's a series I really want to start. Have a great week!
