My Review

Alicia Fairmont is still grieving the loss of her husband after he is killed in a hit and run accident. She is determined to learn about his family and heads to his home town of Cobble Cove in upstate New York.

Alicia never expects to uncover so many deep dark secrets in such a small town. She came up with more questions than answers including wondering if her husband’s death was truly an accident.  Then, her home is burned down. She fears for her own safety.

This is the first book in the Cobble Cove Mystery series and it’s off to an amazing start. I couldn’t put this one down. It’s an intricate plot with many twists and turns along the way. I was trying to decipher all the clues right along with Alicia. I didn’t fare too well…I was totally off on who did it.

The cast of characters range from quirky to serious. There’s even a library cat in the mix. I trusted no one (except the cat, I always trust cats – LOL) as I was reading along. There’s also a romance mixed in with the mystery. I’m usually more about the mystery than the romance in my cozy mystery reading, but this one worked well and kept my interest from the beginning to the end of the story.

I’m very much looking forward to the second book in the series.

About the Author

    The cover picture for A Stone's Throw is good. The synopsis snagged my attention and as a murder mytery it sounds riveting. Adding to my must read list, the secrets of Alicia's deceased husband demand answers. Thanks for the review!
