Sunday/Monday Posts - March 18th and 19th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

It's been a crazy two weeks here in the northeast. We've already had three nor'easters. The third one seemed to hit my area the hardest leaving us without power for about 6 hours. Then we lost Internet, TV and phone for about a week. Fortunately, some of my posts were pre-scheduled, but I couldn't check on my blog, for the most part. Finally, we have everything back and working. I'm now trying to catch up on the TV shows I missed during that week. I did manage to catch up on my reading, though. Thank goodness for my e-reader. Since it has it's own built in light, I was able to read when we lost power and I didn't have to hold up a flashlight. Now, they are saying yet a fourth storm is on the way this week. It's too early to say what the effects will be to us right now. Needless to say, I'm more than ready for spring and nice weather.

Despite no Internet at home, I was able to get Kindle freebies through my phone. I was happy with that. Wouldn't want to miss any freebies. LOL Have you noticed how quickly those freebies can vanish? What's free in the morning might not be free in the evening. Crazy. Fortunately, I've been able to hoard lots of freebies :)

Besides the weather, I'm happy to see the TV shows returning. I'm enjoying Survivor, Designated Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, and Scandal. I can't believe This Is Us and How To Get Away With Murder just had their season finales. Both were really good and I'll miss them.

If the weather would cooperate, things would be just about perfect here. I'm hoping the latest storm they are forecasting will go out to sea. Other than that, it's business as usual here. How have things been by you?

Yvonne

  3. Wow.. That sucks about the weather. My region doesn't experience this (thankfully), but the weather here still sucked. Wayyy to cold for spring, the wind is just icy. I can't believe it's the end of March! We're going to have a cold Easter, it seems.

I hope you have no more power and internet issues though! And thank goodness for Kindle on the phone, haha :D saved your haul, huh.

    Have a great week :)

  5. The Broken Girls was really good. I had friends in NJ who lost power for over 24 hours. Glad you are all back up and running again. I would be freaking out if I lost internet since I work from home. Hope this week is all sunshine and five star reads!

  12. Oh wow, power loss and your snow shenanigans puts out piddly inconveniences into perspective! Hopefully, when no.4 hits it wont be as bad as the others.

  13. I like snow but only if it doesn't take out the power. We're supposed to get 1-3 inches on Tuesday night, which is a blizzard in TN! haha
Looking forward to your post on The French Girl, I've been wanting to read it.
