Sunday/Monday Posts - June 24th and 25th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  It's officially summer and the weather is still weird, but it is what it is :)  Sometimes hot, sometimes cool, sometimes humid...whatever it wants to be :)  All I know is that I seem to be reading more and that makes me happy.

I've been trying to mix up my reading genres from cozies to romance to women's fiction to thrillers.  It helps me to read different genres.  I think I was getting in a rut before.  Cozies are still my favorite "go to" genre, though :)  I've even been getting to read library books and books from my own TBR.

I had some trouble with the "Follow Me" subscription on my blog.  So, if you were following my blog by email, you'll have to re-subscribe.  The old stuff was all lost.  The new button in my sidebar should work fine.

I haven't had much TV to catch up on, but still have a few shows on my DVR.  I'm still enjoying Code Black although that show will be ending soon.  I've been catching up on the new comedy show with Jenna Fischer, Splitting Up Together.  I really like this show.  I've watched all the season one episodes now so I have to wait for its return in the fall.  The Affair started again last week and the premiere episode reminded me why I like this show so much.  So, I have that to look forward to through the summer.  I'm also looking through Netflix and Amazon Prime to see if there are any binge-worthy shows for me to get hooked on.

So, what have you all been up to this week?  Read or see anything good?  Hope you all have a great week.

Yvonne

  2. I also love The Affair...it seemed like we had a super-long hiatus this time! I thought it might be gone for good.

I have Our House on my NG stack...and hope to read it soon.

I put The President is Missing on hold at the library.

I also enjoy mixing up my genres...I seem to avoid slumps that way.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  6. I'm a cozy addict and proud of it. LOL I like to mix in other genres to keep things interesting. Thrillers, horror, and even children's books. I just love to read:) I'm rewatching Dexter from the beginning. Miss that serial killer. LOL

  7. I also try to mix up my genres to keep things fresh. I added a bunch to my review stack last week so didn't really look for freebies. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  8. I've been trying to mix up my genres a bit too. I was hitting some serious genre fatigue. I've been taking an unintentional break for tv for the most part. There just haven't been very many things I've wanted to watch. Have a great week!

  10. It sure is good to mix up the styles/genres, I don't do it that often but its a good idea. I wonder what the Bill Clinton/James Patterson will bel like. Have heard it being advertised.

  12. I try to mix up genres too, but often go in streaks of reading the same for a few books.

  13. I tend to read genres in little sprees. A couple fantasy here, some romance there, and of course my mysteries (primarily cozy). Every once and a while I throw in a memoir or non-fiction book.

Anyway, you selection looks interesting. Happy reading!

  14. I'm very much a mood reader so sometimes I'll read nothing but one type of genre for months because it ticks the boxes and other times I chop and change constantly just because my mood does. :)

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
