The Weekend Review - January 26th-28TH

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

We ended up getting no snow this past week, but we had quite a bit of rain and wind.  Plus cold temps made it really feel like winter.  The temps went up and are now going back down, but no snow in our immediate forecast.

I finished two books this week.  Both cozy mysteries and really good.  I'm a bit behind on my TV viewing but I'm trying to catch up this weekend.

I continue to stock up on my Kindle freebies as if I really need more books to read.  It's just that they all look so good :)

I had to change to moderate comments as I've been receiving too much spam.  Hopefully that will die down and I can return to unmoderated.

Other than that, it's been a quiet week here.  How have things been in your corner of the world?

Hope you all have a great week!

Yvonne

  2. Ugh. The spam can be so frustrating.

  3. The spam thing is awful! So far on mine they're keeping to older posts so I've just got moderation on for those but it's starting to ramp up. I hate cold and rainy days though I think I'd prefer that to snow! I love the Sofie Ryan series - I need to go back and read the earlier ones and I'm reading Death by Committee now. Have a great week!

  4. I had a quiet week too which was awesome! No snow, but also very cold. I'm really hoping to see some snow though... I do like snow. :)

  5. Ugghhh...I hate spams. I'm constantly deleting various comments on my blog that has nothing to do with the books I've read. Hope you have a great week!

  6. I've come across several other blogs that have went to comment moderation because of spam. You got a lot of fun books. I'm stocking up on my cozies again. Now that the holdiay ones are done I'm looking for spring reads with fun covers. Happy reading:)

  10. I’ve been getting a lot of spam, too. Luckily, my spam filter has been catching most of it. You can have some of our snow. We seem to have all of it. Have a good week!

  12. No Escape Claws looks good. I have been getting a lot of SPAM lately too.

  13. When I was on blogger I had to turn the moderation on as well and found just had to leave it on. Sods that they are. Happy reading.

  14. I banned anonymous comments and that seemed to help with the spam. Anyway, I have the Suspect on my list ... I hope I get to it.

  15. The spam comments are such a pain! I had to do the same thing and moderate all of the comments to make sure none of the bogus got through. Hopefully moderating will help you with that! I still have to go through and delete my spam a couple times a week.

Here is my IMWAYR post! I hope you have a great week :)

  16. Nice looking assortment of books. We've managed to miss the snow but aren't going to miss the bone-chilling cold. Lots of good reading time! Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  17. I had a hectic week but things are progressing well. I also keep getting all the freebies but I do check them out thoroughly first on Goodreads. I try to only get ones I might actually read. I've seen The Suspect around a bit and it's got my attention. Have a great week. I hope your weather holds up. It's going to rain tomorrow and then get cold here again. I like today - sunny and 50. 18. We are having a couple of really cold days. There's rain in the forecast so it is a wait and see if the cold and the wet will meet. I'm hoping for a snow day, but if it will probably just be an ice delay. See what I read in December at Girl Who Reads

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
