The Weekend Review - May 14th-16th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

The weather in my part of Florida has been lovely so we went to the zoo.  A couple of pics...

I only finished one book this week, but it was a good one.  It's not my usual genre but I love baseball and the Yankees so I read a new book written by Paul O'Neill and Jack Curry.  It was really good.  Now, I'm reading the Murder She Wrote book and I'm enjoying it.

All my TV shows are coming to an end for the season.  This Is Us will permanently be over and only has 2 episodes left.  This season has been so good and I will miss this show.  I just read that The Endgame was cancelled.  I'm disappointed about that.  It was a good new show and it left us with a cliffhanger.  Now, we'll never get any closure with that show.  I still have a few shows on my DVR to catch up with.  By the end of May, all my shows will be over for the season and I can concentrate on reading, I hope.

That's about it from here.  How are things by you?  Reading or watch anything good lately?  Have a great week!

  1. I've had several shows cancelled this week as well. Not all my shows, but a good portion of them. The only one I'm really that upset about is Legends of Tomorrow. I was still loving that show, and they left us with a bad cliffhanger, too.

  2. I didn't think you'd need to go to a zoo to see an alligator in Florida, lol. Or is that a croc?

  3. Hi there Yvonne! Ooooe I am very excited to see what you think of the latest Murder She Wrote instalment. I must really start with that series. I know I'm going to enjoy it! I haven't read a lot the last couple of days, spending some time with my parents in law here in Mauritius. So I am slightly behind on reading and blogging.

Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

  4. I haven't been to a zoo in about 5 years and it was with the kids. Glad you are having such nice weather; we have summer like temps - low 80s but glad to be back in the 70s next week - perfect for me. I'm sad about This is Us coming to an end but, I think they are doing a fabulous job winding down their story.

A baseball book is a nice change of pace for you. Fun!

  7. The Paul O'Neill book looks interesting. As for TV, I'm currently looking for older shows that I haven't watched to binge watch on Netflix, Hulu, etc. My Sunday Post: https://bonniereadsandwrites.wordpress.com/2022/05/15/sunday-post-4/

  12. I love zoos! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I really enjoy the Murder, She Wrote series, but I have many to go before I am caught up. I'm glad to know the newer books in the series are still good.

    Have a good week!

  13. I watched a couple of episodes of Murder She Wrote. You can stream it on one channel I have. Of course, I watched them all on the telly when they came out. My grandparents and I watched it each week together. Glad the weather has been wonderful! We love our local zoo.

  14. I will miss This is Us too, but this season has been especially good. My hubby and I were sad to see Endgame canceled too. Had they known, they got have let her ride off into the sunset with her hubby and kid.

  15. Murder, She Wrote brings back such fond memories. I used to watch the series with my mom. We'd look forward to it every Sunday. I miss watching it, but I mostly miss my mom.

  16. I'm starting the MSW book next and am so excited. I've kind of lost interest in TV and have been mostly watching YouTube or binging various shows. It seems all my favorite shows were either cancelled or had major characters leave. Have a wonderful week!

  19. There are too many shows to keep up with on all the streaming services. So I just have to be OK not being able to get to them all. Ha!
Jiggered by Gin looks fun. I'll have to look into that one. I hope you have a lovely week!
