The Weekend Review - May 30th-June 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe we are finishing with May and starting June. Time more than flies these days.  It's been quiet here. Nothing special going on.  Our weather isn't the best.  It's mostly cloudy and rainy but it makes for good reading weather.

I only finished one book this week, but I enjoyed it. I always enjoy reading the Murder She Wrote books. I never watched the show but I'm loving the books. Maybe I should give the show a try.

I'm not watching anything these days. The regular TV season is over and I really haven't found anything I want to watch right now. So maybe I'll have a chance to read more.

I hope you all have a great week!

  1. The year really is flying by!

Good luck with your June book picks. I haven't decided on any kind of TBR yet -- probably going to mostly go by whim, because I kinda cornered myself in May and stopped having fun with reading.

    1. Thanks. I was able to do my June TBR because they all have due dates from NetGalley. I want to get to the point where I can just read whatever I want. I know the feeling of not having fun reading because of due dates. Have a great week!

  2. I need to make time to read the Golden Girls books. Since you enjoy the Murder, She Wrote books, I definitely recommend watching the series. I think you'll really enjoy it! On another note, I finally joined your cozies challenge on Goodreads for this year. Now that we're heading into June. LOL. Have a great weekend. :)

  3. You would probably like the tv series if you like the books. We've been watching an old tv series, ER. I like the look of Lost in the Summer of '69.

  6. On my agenda today is to make a list of books I want to read in June. I also have books that carry over from May, that carried over from April, that carried over from March, LOL! As a mood reader it is hard to always stick with the lists! Have a great week!

    1. I know that feeling of carrying over books. I never get a chance to read everything that I want to each month. I'm a mood reader too. Have a great week!

  7. The Golden Girls mystery series is calling me. It looks fun. Our weather has been terrible as well but unfortunately it's been causing migraines which has really slowed down my reading. Amazon Prime had the entire Murder, She Wrote series on sale for $25 (all 12 seasons) so I bought it and am looking forward to a reread. I've watched quite a bit of it but always enjoy it. Have a great week!

    1. I'm sorry about the migraines. I get those too. I'm hoping one of the streaming services will have the whole MSW series. Hope you have a great week!

  9. I want to get into the Golden Girls cozy mysteries. It looks like a lot of fun! I used to love the show when I was younger. They used to play it all the time on tv.

    Have a great week, Yvonne!

    1. The Golden Girls series really is fun. I haven't watched the TV series in years but the books are very much like the series. You have a great week too!

  10. We need the rain. I love Angela Lansbury but the show is old enough it is kind of kitschy. I watched a couple episodes last year.

    1. I watched a couple of episodes and they are good. It's a little weird watching shows before cellphones were invented. I keep thinking, "use your cellphone!" LOL

  15. I've never read or seen Murder, She Wrote. I have avoided the books because I thought watching the series might be a prerequisite. It seems I'm seeing so many of them that I wouldn't know where to start. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. I agree, Yvonne. The year is flying by. I just finished Road Trip and really enjoyed it. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was excellent. I hope you enjoy all your June picks.
