The Friday Night Knitting Club Series

Genre:
Women's Fiction

Format:
Audio Books

Publisher:
Blackstone Publishers

Release Date:
2007-2009

I listened to all three of these books in my car. I figured I would review them all in one post.

The series is about single mom Georgia Walker who opens a knitting shop in New York City to support her daughter, Dakota. Her boyfriend left her not long after she got pregnant and she was left to take care of her daughter on her own. Even her parents weren't much help. The show is called Walker and Daughter.

Georgia organizes a knitting group which meets every Friday night at her shop. Dakota becomes part of it, too, as she bakes all kinds of baked goods for the ladies. As the weeks go on, the group becomes closer and closer until they are all very good friends. Each friend is dealing with their own personal issues.

When Georgia's old flame James returns, she's scared he will take their daughter away. The one thing she didn't expect was to still have feelings for the man who deserted her so many years ago.

Then, tragedy strikes. The women of the knitting group are never quite the same again. The following two books show us how each woman grows and handles the situations life throws their way. Georgia daughter, Dakota, becomes a woman right in front of our eyes.

This is a very touching story that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. I really enjoyed meeting all these women.

Disclosure: I tall all three audio books out from the library. All opinions are my own.
