This week's question...
Since my dog is turning 10 today … what animal-related books have you read? Which do you love? Do you have a favorite literary dog? (Snoopy, anyone?)
My answer...
Well, of course, being the host of the What an Animal Reading Challenge I've read a few animal-related books :) The last one I read was The Cat, The Professor and The Poison by Leann Sweeney. It's the second book of her Cats in Trouble Mystery series and it was great. I'm currently reading A Dog Named Slugger by Leigh Brill...yes, I'm reading a book about a dog, not a cat :) It's really good and a true story about Slugger, a service guide dog, and the person he assists.
My favorite literary dog? Probably Lassie. Even though nobody asked, my favorite literary cat would be Joe Grey from Shirley Rousseau Murphy's Joe Grey mysteries and Mrs. Murphy from Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy series. I also love Garfield.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

I love Lassie, too. Here is my BTT.
ReplyDeleteMentioning Lassie brought back memories.

I also belong to your Animal Reading Challenge, therefore I read a lot of animal books. I have been looking at the Slugger book, but wasn't sure about it. So after your post it will be going on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI didn't play this week, to busy with other real life things. I am just about finished with Silver Girl, I have a few pages to go. I have enjoyed it, I hope you will too.
Good choices! I love the Mrs Murphy books, too - I'm reading one right now.
ReplyDeleteVicki - That's the one cat series that I haven't read yet, but I do have it my TBR.
ReplyDeleteAww, I forgot all about Lassie!
ReplyDeleteI don't purposely seek out animal-related fiction, but one author features intelligent, heroic dogs in many of his books. Check out my post!
