The Weekend Review - June 13th-15th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

It's already the middle of June and the pandemic is still with us.  I don't know about everyone else, but I've been hearing the cases are increasing here.  For the most part we are still inside but I did get my hair done and we've gone out to a couple of restaurants, but mainly we stay home.

The weather has been warm so I've been sitting on my porch reading.  That's been nice and I've completed three books this week.  All the books I'm reading have been so good, too.

Not too much as far as TV goes, but I'm okay with that.  Reading is what I want to be doing anyway.

Other than that, not much new happening here.  How about in your part of the world?

I hope you all have a great week!

  1. I still have Paris is Always a Good Idea on my radar. I'll be interested in seeing what you think about it. That Summer in Maine looks intriguing, too.

Cases of the virus are on the rise here in Texas, so we are continuing to stay home as much as possible and meet with family and friends at a distance. We've done a little delivery, but other than that, no restaurants.

  3. I haven’t checked my state’s virus numbers recently, but I think cases are going up in most states. I’ve been staying inside and ordering takeout and reading books. I hope you have a great week!

  7. Our numbers in Massachusetts are finally going down, but I fear with all the protests that they will be rising.

  8. Great looking books! I also got the Rushdan book and the one after it, which was on sale. My state is slowly re-opening but I've been staying inside except for groceries and doctor appointments.

    Have a good week!

  11. Our salons open up today. Most of them are booked, which is good for the salon owners. We did go out to a restaurant last week, very different, but needed for right now. That Summer In Maine looks good. Have a great week..

  12. The incidence of infection is falling here, but as I've been ill and needed to be tested, I have been tucked away. Fortunately the test was negative, but it wasn't an option to ignore it as Himself is a key worker... Have a great week:))

  13. I have Paris Is Always a Good Idea on my review stack too. Our restaurants just opened for inside seating last Wednesday. I haven't been to a restaurant for months because they serve food that doesn't really fit into my new "healthy" eating plan. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. That Summer in Maine looks good. Our state's cases have gone down but not our county.

  15. Ooh, I'm liking your new books! People are coming out in droves here. They act like it's all over even though new cases are being reported daily.

  16. So many great books here and several that are coming up on my list. I'm curious to see what you think of the Victoria Laurie books. I've read some of her earlier books and have mixed feelings about her. Hope you're having a great week!
