The Weekend Review - June 20th-22nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!  I hope you are enjoying your day.

We've had a mixed bag of weather this week.  We've gone from sunny/humid to torrential rains/humid and then back again.  It just keeps going back and forth.  Not that I'm going anywhere anyway.  Although we've gone out a couple of times to restaurants and, of course, grocery shopping we really don't go out much because of COVID-19.  Unfortunately, Florida's new cases and hospitalizations keep going up so we are still being cautious.  We are going back to not eating out for the most part.

Even with staying home, I only finished one book this week.  I keep hoping to read more but it doesn't seem to be working out that way.  Oh well, I'm enjoying my books and I have many good looking books waiting for me so I'm happy.  I'm trying hard to stay ahead of the reviews I need for blog tours and, so far so good :)

Not too much else is going on around here.  Being home all the time makes me feel like we are waiting for something but it never happens.  Maybe that's a good thing.  Same old, same old isn't bad.

I hope you all have a great week!  Stay safe!

  1. It's been super hot here too the last few days. And same here with Covid. We're doing takeout but mostly avoiding restaurants still- although they're packed here whenever I pick something up so clearly not everyone is worried! I hope your cases there don't get too bad.

    Have a great reading week.

  2. It's been getting more humid here and I'm not liking it. We've been doing takeout but haven't eaten in a restaurant yet.

  3. I love to be able to free books from Kindle- We are snowbirds and left Florida 3 weeks ago. I have to say the weather in Pennsylvania has been cool in the mornings and warm during the day without much humidity. We still are not going to restaurants or taking out.

  4. We've even had some hot weather up here in Ohio! We haven't ventured out to a restaurant yet and don't plan to, but I'm hoping a dinner party with another couple and their son on our deck will feel like the same thing :) I'm not getting a whole lot of reading done either!

  5. My reading has improved just a bit not very much though mainly because I am hooked on TV drama serials!

  6. We still don't have restaurants open in UK, because we have the 2 metre rule for social distancing. Our infection and death rate figures are still dropping, but oh so slowly - so while shops are starting to open, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't get a spike. Stay safe:)

  7. I'm so eager to read Paris is Always a Good Idea. That cover is marvelous.

Our numbers have gone up dramatically here near Houston. Some of our hospitals are at 120% occupancy. That's not good. We are staying home.

I think you have put it well. We feel like we are waiting for something that never comes.

  8. It is definitely wise to be cautious, since we are in for a long haul with this Pandemic.

It's good that we are surrounded by books! I am eager to get my hands on He Started It. The Request is another one on my list.

    Stay safe, and enjoy!

  9. My reading isn't as much as I think it should be. Playing too much Animal Crossing. I'm interested in Paris is Always a Good Idea. Hope you have a good week!

  10. I've been reading books here and there too. It's been easier if I have a physical book so I can pick up and lay down while out at the park or something.

  11. One of the hardest parts of staying home is not having anything to look forward to. All of my plans for the summer got canceled. I feel like I’m always waiting for something to happen too. Have a good week!

  13. Very wise to only go out for what you really need to do. Reading one book is good. The important point is your enjoyment. Hope Paris is Always a Good Idea has good things planned for your reading time.

  14. I've been lucky to get some reading done, but for a while I couldn't get into any book or even write.

This is the second blog that featured Bell's book. I will have to check it out. Love the look of all your cozy mysteries, too.

Hope you have a great week.

  15. Since they lifted some of these restrictions here, the cases are rising. People seem to think it's over and that is scary.

  16. I'm still staying home a lot here in Minnesota. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  17. I forgot about IMWAYR (or whatever the acronym is. LOL). More Than Neighbors was a fun read. I think When I Was You is coming up on my list too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week.
