The Weekend Review - August 21st-23rd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

For those in the path of Hurricane Henri, I hope it passes you by and heads out to sea.  Take care of yourselves and stay safe.  The hurricane's path includes my old hometown so I am praying for my friends and family.

This week went by really fast.  I don't even remember what I did this week that made it go so fast.  LOL  It's still hot and humid here.  My exercising is limited to an exercise video at home instead of walking, but that's okay for now.  I just can't listen to audiobooks at the same time.  I'm too busy concentrating on what the exercise instructor is saying 😀

I only finished one book this week, but another good one.  I just started The Other Me and this is really intriguing.  Very different than my usual reads.  It's keeping me on my toes.

I saw Reminiscence starring Hugh Jackman last night and it was pretty good.  A little strange, though.  I haven't really been watching much else.  I did watch the first episode of the new season of Chesapeake Shores and enjoyed it.  It looks like it will be a good season.

I'm hoping to spend the rest of the weekend relaxing and reading.  I hope you all have a great week.  Stay safe.

  8. Sometimes it's curious how quickly the days and weeks pass now that I am retired. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what I did this week, too.

I do hope Hurricane Henri passes by without damaging the north. I've been through many awful storms.

    The Other Me sounds fascinating.

  9. Fingers crossed Henry stays away from your family and friends! And I also haven't been able to go out and walk much due to the rain, but unlike you I haven't taken that as an opportunity to do at home exercise :O I hope you enjoy your new reads!

  10. I had a crazy busy week! But it flew by too, although I am now still exhausted! I love the titles of cozy mysteries so much, like The Rocky Road to Ruin! I wish I liked the books more so I could read all those fun titles. Hope you have a good week!

  15. I feel the same way about the week. It went fast, but I can't put my finger on what I did exactly! My reading has slowed as well. We have had humid weather, but it is beautiful with low humidity today.

Lots of good books coming up.

    Have a good week!

  18. Nice looking assortment of books. I have been able to get outside to walk since temperatures have cooled down here. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  19. There's no way I could listen to an audio book while doing a workout either! I don't really like to cook when listening to the audio book unless I'm making pancakes or something repetitive like like that. Either I won't hear the book or I'll forget what I'm doing! I have Deadly Summer Nights coming up too and am really looking forward to it! Have a great week!
