The Weekend Review - November 27th-29th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Well, Thanksgiving in the U.S. has come and gone.  Sunday night Hanukkah begins and then onwards to Christmas, followed by New Years.  I really find it hard to believe it's the holiday season.  Maybe part of that is living in Florida with the sun shining.  However, everything is starting to get decorated and I love all the lights and decorations.

My husband and I had a quiet Thanksgiving together.  Lots of turkey, stuff, and potatoes - all the good stuff.

My blog calendar is pretty full until the end of the year, but I did manage to finish three books.  So, that was good.  One was an audiobook, which means I'm back to walking on a regular basis.

Now, I'm ready to decide what reading challenges, hosted by others, I will participate in next year.  There are a few I traditionally participate in and will again.  I'm looking forward to them.

As for what I'm watching, I've just been watching Hallmark Channel movies.  They are corny but cute.

Not much else happening here.  I hope you all have a great week.  Take care and stay safe!

  1. Still like the Secret of Snow. Gosh, I just need to get a copy now!

Here in SA we love having the sunshine and beachy days for Christmas. Now snow or icy weather please! But I would still love to have a White Christmas just once in my life.

Have a good week Yvonne and good luck with all the blog tours!

  3. I'm thinking about my reading challenges, too. Last year I did Nonfiction and Classics and Diversity and Books in Translation. I'm not sure what I'll do this year.

We hope to watch a few of our favorite Christmas movies soon.

I like the sound of A Zen for Murder. It's hard to imagine murder at a Zen spot!

  10. Love the cover of Forests, Fishing, and Forgery, I might recommend it to my mom who loves both mysteries and camping! Yeah, my blog calendar is so full as well. Although I had htis week with not as many scheduled reviews. I keep saying next year I'll stop signing up for so many, but then more come out that I want to read! Oh well. The life of a book blogger I guess, right? lol Have a great week!

  16. That's great on finishing three books and that you had a nice Thanksgiving. Holidays in the south are always a bit different - especially if you're used to a colder climate! Have a great week!

  17. There is a lot to be said for Hallmark movies, especially in these times. Christmas for you in Florida is probably a bit like our New Zealand summer Christmas. I'd so love a cold Christmas!

  18. The Secret of Snow looks good! I am glad that you had a good holiday. :)

  19. We had a quiet Thanksgiving too. I used to join (and even host!) reading challenges but I've gotten away from them in the last few years.

  20. I didn't have to cook this year and I didn't plan any real estate work, so my weekend was quieter than usual.

The Secret of Snow, A Coastline Retreat, and Spotlight Scandal all caught my eye. Hope you enjoy your books.
