The Weekend Review - September 10th-12th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

It's been a relatively quiet week for me.  It's even been quiet as far as blog tours last week.  However, next week will be a different story...many blog tours scheduled.

I finished two books this week.  Both were good.

As far as what I've been watching, I've been binging on a new series I found on the Peacock streaming app.  It's called Last Light with Matthew Fox from Lost. We watched the first four episodes last night.  I didn't realize the show is only 5 episodes or we would have kept watching.  I guess we'll finish up tonight.  It's an apocalyptic thriller.  I thought it was really good.  The episodes went by so fast.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and have a great upcoming week!

I'm currently reading...

I finished reading ...

I'm planning to read one of these next...

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Last Light sounds like something I would enjoy watching. We don't currently subscribe to Peacock, but maybe someday. A Death in Door County sounds good too. I hope you are enjoying it! Have a great week, Yvonne, and happy reading!

  2. I'll be curious to see what you thought of A Death in Door Country. I was tempted to read it, but ultimately passed.

  3. That does sound like a good show. I have Peacock but only the base version I think- I upgraded to Premium or whatever it is for a show a couple months ago but then went back to the free version. I'll have to take a look.

  4. Great book additions! Your current read book looks pretty interesting. I'll watch for the review.

  5. I’ve seen the ads for Last Light, it does look good.

Wishing you a great reading week

  6. I always find the best series to watch from other bloggers. Last Light sounds promising. I love a good apocalyptic show.

A lot of great new books come out in September each year, so this is a busy time for a lot of us. It also explains why I get behind in my reading right about now every year!

  7. Oh I want to watch Last Light so I am glad it's a good one!
Have a great day and happy reading!

  8. Hi there Yvonne!

Bonnie talked about Songbird somewhere last week... Can't remember exactly where. Will take a look!

And Last Light - will have to take a look. We loved Lost so much.

    Have a good week ahead!

  9. Uncharted Waters looks interesting.

  10. I haven't watched it yet, but Last Light is intriguing to me too. I love Matthew Fox in LOST and I also love Joanne Froggatt in Downton Abbey. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I look forward to watching it myself.

  11. You've got some nice-looking books coming up. I especially like the cover of Songbird.

  12. Nice book haul! I hope you have a great week!

  13. I will have to look that show up. It sounds like one my hubby would like.

  14. I have some blog tours coming up soon too, they seem to be all at once. I guess quite a few Christmas books publishing is part of it.

  15. I am curious about Uncharted Waters. Enjoy your week and your books, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  16. Sounds like you had a good week! I hope this one is as successful. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  17. I'm starting Death in Door County next book and I'm looking forward to it. It looks so different. I hope you are having a wonderful week!
