The Weekend Review - January 21st-January 23rd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone is had a good week.  It's been a quiet one here.

Just wondering - do any of you order the Hello Fresh meal kits?  I was thinking of trying it and wondered if it's any good.  Anyone have any opinions about it? Good or bad, I want to hear it all 😁

I finished two books this week.  I've been catching up on TV shows, too.  Not much else going on here.

I hope you all have a great week!

  1. I've tried a couple of the home meal delivery options but I'll be darned if I can remember which one. One was cheap and the meals reflected that - ultra simple/basic ingredients; the other (Home Chef maybe?) was delicious with more complex meals but every one was really good and the price reflected that....we didn't order as many of those. Luckily those services are easy to drop if you try it for a week or two and don't like it. Good luck!

  6. Hi there Yvonne!

I can't help you with home deliveries. SA is a bit far!

I also have Bakeries and Buffoonery and think it's going to be lots of fun for sure!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  7. My friend Karen uses a food service, and she and her husband are quite happy with it. He is trying to eat more healthy food. Wish I knew which one she uses.

Bakeries and Buffoonery sounds good---bakeries plus magic, yes.

  10. Cat Scratch Murder sounds like a good one. :-) I haven't used Hello Fresh or any service like that. I think I'm too picky about what I eat. Lol. Have a great week! :-)

  14. We get a Hello Fresh box every other week and really enjoy it. Pretty much everything we've gotten has been really good. My sister-in-law didn't like it because there's a decent amount of chopping and whatnot but I like that I just take the bag out of the fridge and follow the directions. Have a great week!

  17. I've never tried any of the meal delivery options. I keep looking at them but can't decide which I'd like to try or even if they are available to me in my small city. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  18. We enjoyed Hello Fresh when we subscribed to it. Most of the recipes don't take long to make. We also tried recipes we might not have otherwise. The one negative other than how expensive it can get is that they stick to serving size, so there are absolutely no leftovers. I am a big leftover person, so that didn't work for me.

Charming Bookshop Mysteries and Hideaway at Silver Lake caught my eye this week. Hope you enjoy your books.

  19. I've done Hello Fresh a few times, more now that my son is old enough to cook them for me. I like them because they're different than things I would usually make. I don't like the cost or the package waste though. Have a good week!
