The Weekend Review - September 28th-30th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

It was a crazy week.  Hurricane Helene didn't come our way.  We had a lot of wind and heavy rains, but thankfully nothing worse than that.  I feel for all those who were directly hit and might be without power.  My heart goes out to all of you.

I only finished one book this week.  Between watching the hurricane updates and the new TV season, I was only able to manage one book.  I picked up a few new shows... High Potential, Brilliant Minds, Dr. Odyssey, Matlock and Grotesquerie. We're on the fence about Brilliant Minds and Dr. Odyssey.  the others I think we'll keep.  Grotesquerie is a horror TV show by Ryan Murphy.  It's good but probably not for everyone.  Very gory.

I have a couple of medical appointments coming up next week.  Some ongoing issues that the doctors are trying to find answers for.  I'm not looking forward to that.

I hope everyone had a great week and has a great upcoming week!  Stay safe everyone!

  4. Nice assortment of books to choose from. Glad you didn't have damage from Helene. We just outside Tallahassee city limits and some roads were closed. Crews are still working on power restoration. I read lots during the sheltering time!

  10. I'm glad you didn't have any damage from Helene either. All we had was a lot of rain and wind.

I rarely read Christmas books but for some reason I want to this year. I'm adding The Christmas Inn to my list.

  14. I've been thinking how terrible it is for all those people caught up in the hurricane. Glad you weren't one of them.
Hope your Dr's visits end up with good news.

  15. Good luck with the doctors' appointments! I'm always looking for books to pack on my next cruise (April) so I'll look for Pier Pressure. (Although I bought so many for my last cruise, I still have two unread. But this next cruise is 11 days, so I'll need more books!)
