The Weekend Review - October 26th-28th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Another quiet week.  I'm even cutting back on my blog tours and reviews. So, even my blog is quiet. Once I get caught up with myself, I'll be back to my usual self on the blog.

For next year, I'm still planning to host the four reading challenges I always host.  I'll be hosting the NetGalley & Edelweiss, What An Animal, Cruisin' thru the Cozies. and Purrfect Reading Challenges.  I don't know if I'll be joining too many others, but I probably will join a few.  I always love a good challenge :)

I didn't finish any books this week, sadly.  I'm not really sure why I didn't.  I'm even backed up on my TV watching, but my time must be going somewhere.  LOL  Probably blogging and video games.  Time wasters :)

Our weather in Florida has been really nice this week.  Nice enough to read on the front porch.

I hope you all have a great week!

Nothing scheduled!

Posts last week:

Monday:  Awww Monday

Tuesday:  Top Ten Tuesday

I'm currently still reading...

I finished reading ...

Nothing 😟

These are the books I have scheduled for the rest of the year.  I have many from previous months that I haven't read yet, so I'll be reading those at some point.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Some weeks just seem to disappear, don't they.

  2. I don't do many blog tours these days as I hate working to deadlines! Have a good week.

  3. Good luck on getting caught up with stuff! Sometimes it's a good idea to just go quiet for a bit and rejuvenate -- hope you manage to!

  4. That's fun that you're thinking ahead to 2025 challenges. I hadn't had that thought, yet. But it's getting close!

  5. Glad you had a nice slow week. I love a good challenge but I am horrible with keeping up with them. :)

Have a great week and happy reading!

  6. It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the different opportunities. I haven't requested a NetGalley book in weeks because I'm afraid I'll overextend myself. Blogging can take a lot of time. I'm trying to find ways to manage that.

You have some books that look interesting scheduled for the rest of the year. I hope you get a handle on the time and are able to accomplish your goals.

  7. I hope that you manage to catch up with everything soon. Sometimes it is nice to take a step back and sort.

    Have a great weekend!

  8. We all need a slow week sometimes. Ha! A New Lease on Death. What a great title!

  9. I did some front porch reading this week, and I just barely finished one book. It was a laid-back week here.

I'm glad you are planning to host four challenges next year. Challenges can be great fun.

  11. How wonderful to be able to read on the porch again! It's been a long summer in FL...

  12. Yay for nice weather! Sorry you weren't able to finish anything this past week. Maybe this week.

  13. Puck and Prejudice looks like everything I love in a romance! Pride and Prejudice, time travel, and hockey! I just requested it on NetGalley. Thanks for sharing! I don't believe blogging and playing video games are time wasters. We all need things like that sometimes and I for one am glad you're blogging. I'm glad the weather has been cooperating. Have a great week! :)

  14. You have some good looking books to read. I grabbed a ton of freebies this week. I can't seem to say no to something that looks right up my alley and free. I have been enjoying the Florida weather too.

  17. Once challenge time comes around it is hard to avoid them. I haven't done any now for a few years. The book you are reading looks very suitable for Halloween month.

  18. It feels like it takes me forever to finish a book these days! Too much time scrolling through my phone and worrying about the upcoming election, I think.
I like challenges and getting review copies, but, like Harvee said, I'm bad with deadlines.
