The Weekend Review - April 12th-14th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

A late start for me today.  Seems to be my theme for this week.  I haven't really accomplished very much.  I have no idea why.  I think it's because I'm still spending too much time on the computer scrolling around the news and that's depressing.  I didn't even finish any books this week and I really should have.  I'm totally behind.

I did get good medical news this week.  My MRI was normal and my physical therapy is going well.  My arm is doing 100 times better.  I've been able to get out and walk more since the weather here has been nice.

At least I'm sticking to fewer blog tours.  I'm giving myself May off or at least most of it.  A break will help.  I'll still be doing my regular memes, I just won't be doing any tours in May.

Other than that, I just need more reading time.  I hope you all had a great week and have a great upcoming week.

I'm still currently reading...

I finished reading ...

Nothing!  I didn't finish any books this week.

Next on my list to read...

I think I'll play it by ear.  My schedule seems to be off these past couple of weeks.  Or I should say "I'm" off these past couple of weeks.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. That's great you got good news from the doctor. Enjoy the dog cozy mystery, that title is cute.

  2. I'm actively trying to limit my social media time. But I read some things always, mostly emails from Substack. Glad you had good medical news and are getting out to enjoy the nice weather.

  5. It's hard to break the habit of constantly checking news. We read headlines to stay informed and move on.

I do pray this coming week is better for you and hooray for the good medical news.

  6. I'm glad you got good medical news this week. I know what you mean about spending too much time doomscrolling. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  7. Congrats on the great medical news. Bet you are relieved. Doomscrolling would get the best of me if I would let it. Mr. Barb does it on Youtube on our TV and I really have to make sure not to engage in it too much. It's depressing. I really need to check out the Three Dog Mystery book. Just checked and could grab it for KU.

  8. Hope you find more reading time this week. I know what you mean about scrolling! I meant to read last night and ended up scrolling! I gave up watching anything related to DT, but in the end I broke it!

  9. I've definitely been moving slower the last few weeks. I think I haven't quite caught up since the time change and allergy season is not helping! Yay for positive medical noise. I hope you have a great week!

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
