The Weekend Review - August 29th-31st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I was totally surprised this week when I went into a store and saw a Halloween display.  I know summer is almost over and time is flying, but that just seems way too early.

It's mainly been a quiet week. A couple more medical issues coming up this week, but I was still able to read three books this week.  So that was good. Usually, I can't read when I'm thinking of medical stuff but this week it's really been a great stress reliever.  Plus, I've been reading some good books, so that helps.

Lately, I've been finding that I'm enjoying thrillers and suspense more than any other genre.  Everything I've read has been so good. Also, I finished two of my reading challenges this week.  So, that was another positive.

Nothing much going on around here.  I hope you all have a great week.

I'm currently reading...

I finished reading...

These are the books I'm planning to read through September. I'll probably make changes along the way, though. Between my mood reading and reading challenges, I'm sure this will change a few times.

Here is this week's e-book freebie haul.  They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Nooo, surely it's too soon for Halloween... the year's speeding away.

How is Paper Ghosts? I keep meaning to try something by Sarah Addison Allen.

  2. I've got my reading planned out for September, all short books. I'm not surprised anymore when I go into a store and seasonal displays are way out of alignment with what is going on in nature outdoors.

  3. Sorry you had more complications. I hope that this week is better for you, it is great that you go some reading in though. I can't believe how fast this year is flying by. I am very ready for Fall but I can't believe we are already almost in September!

  4. I’m reading Paper Ghosts this week too.
I hope the medical things prove to be only minor.
Thanks for sharing your week, happy reading!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
