Teaser Tuesdays - June 12th

If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading...

From the first paragraph...

Gabbie stepped out of her car and regarded the place she was to call home for the rest of the school year. In the gloom of every nightfall, the weatherbeaten cottage held as much charm as the House of Usher.

  1. That's a great first paragraph. It drew me in and made me want more.
My teaser this week is from The Lie.

  2. Great Teaser, new follower here. Yay!

  3. Hi Yvonne,

Great opening and teaser lines, definitely would make me want to read on. I need to know if this person is a pupil or teacher when she mentions the school year.

I checked out this author and have added her name to my list.

    Thanks for sharing,

  4. I still shiver when thinking about the movie, House of Usher.

  5. I'm already feeling a chill....Ooohhhhh.

Thanks for sharing, and enjoy! Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST

  6. Sounds drab.... the house not the book.

  7. Sounds like a spooky read.

  8. Wonderful teaser! That's a pretty vivid comparison of places. And, yes, spooky.

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
