- Describe one of your reading habits.
- Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
- Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
- Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
- Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
- Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books -- let's hear it, then! :D
My Musing...
This week, I'm going with

Like most of you out there, I have a ton of blog tours and review requests, as well as a real life to deal with too. So, how do you all organize and keep track of what needs to be reviewed?
I've tried everything and still things fall through the cracks. I tried a calendar, which I actually do look at each weekend, and then I try to pre-schedule tour posts for the week. Besides tours, I also get review requests. I've been making a list of books to review and trying to put them on my calendar as close to their release date as I can, but it never seems to work out right.
What do you do? Do you use a calendar? A computer program? How do you keep all of these things straight and are you able to stick to a schedule?
I've even made a list of books I want to read during one particular month, but something always comes up and seems to push those back a month or even longer (Unless they are scheduled for a specific date for a tour.)
Obviously, I have to cut back on the tours and reviews, which I'm doing but I still have a long list of books I need to read. I'm just trying to get a handle on it, catch up and then get some type of order going so this doesn't happen to me again.
Any ideas?
I tried a calendar...but did not have great success. so now I have no system at all...lol
ReplyDeletein fact I hope someone here can give me some ideas!
Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can't help you, since I've been blogging for a couple of months only and I didn't host any blog tours. But, maybe you should select only the tours and book reviews that are really important and meaningful to you.
And thanks for stopping by my blog.
Yvonne, you seem very organized to me! I make a list of upcoming tours to help keep me "up to date".
ReplyDeleteI have a calendar but it does not keep some books from falling through the cracks. I just am not organized enough or I accept too many books. Probably both. Here is mine: MM
ReplyDeleteI'm new to the blogging world, so I haven't really had to deal with that yet. I did just start using a calendar though. I've already decided to make sure I don't get overwhelmed. I've only signed up for two book tours so far, and both are next month. I'm not taking on any more until I'm done with those, or at least done reading the books and getting my posts together. I have 2 other ARC books to read, so I'm not taking any more of those right now either. I'm not even looking at NetGalley. That's just too tempting!
ReplyDeleteI think you're organized! I've really cut back on blog tours, and for those I use a calendar. I try to keep reviews organized by month on Goodreads, but like you, the books get pushed back from time to time.
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm doing the calendar thing where I plan ahead all my posts in a month and it works fine for me.
ReplyDeletei have a musing too.. check it out http://wp.me/p3v5T1-90
