Teaser Tuesdays/First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday - October 8th

Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?

If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week I'm reading...

"Clare's dead!"

When she spoke the words, her voice was so low it was barely above a whisper.  With the phone still ringing on the other end of the line, the sturdy woman with short, curly read hair dropped the handset back into its cradle and began to pace.

Lillie Mae Harris stopped at the front window, taking no notice of the white buds that were just opening on the two Bradford pear trees in her front yard, or the spring flowers peeping through the freshly hoed soil in the close-by flower bed.

Her thoughts were of Clare.

What do you think?  Would you keep reading?

  1. Although I'm intrigued by the 'Breakfast Club' bit of the title, I probably wouldn't read it... Because of the 'Murder' bit in the title! - crime and mystery not my thing.

  2. Curious as to what happened to Clare, but not sure that this one is for me -- hope you enjoy it though.

  3. Intriguing opening-- hope you enjoy it!

  4. This one is on my TBR list. Hope you enjoy it!

    Here's my Tuesday post:

  5. I have been intrigued by this one ever since I first noticed it here...the title and the cover. And I downloaded it yesterday, so I'm going to be reading it!

  6. Good one!! I love these kinds of mysteries.

  7. I like the sound of this one! From the title to the intro. I will have to look for this one and add it to my wish list.

  8. Cozy mysteries are so much fun! I'll read this one.
My Teaser is from AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

  9. The title certainly has me intrigued. I am teasing a rom-suspense this week: Saint’s Gate

  10. I would have to read a bit more to decide.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!

After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.

Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.
