Teaser Tuesdays
Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile By the Sea hosts First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, where we share the first paragraph or (a few) of a book we are reading or thinking about reading soon. Care to join us?
If you'd like to play along on Teaser Tuesdays, just click the button above.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week I'm reading...
First chapter...
Prologue
Rain spattered against the empty street that stank of wet pavement and something less pleasant...sewage, mold, and a pinch of death. A tall woman pulled the hood of her long coat farther forward to hide her face. The picture of hunched misery, she kept to the shadows and walked close to the buildings as if hoping for a shield from the damp onslaught.
Teaser...
"No job is boring if you do it right. And I plan to do this one right."
So, what do you think? Would you continue reading?

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog! I always love reading comments and getting to know my readers!
After some careful consideration, I've decided to become an award-free blog. Although I appreciate and am honored by each and every award I've received, your comments and friendship are enough award for me. Thank you all so much for your thoughtfulness.
Due to way too many spam comments, I disabled the Anonymous User comments. We'll see if this works, otherwise I'll have to go back to word verification.

The beginning is definitely very interesting! I usually link rain to a really nice and clean smell, but then the description of the smell of the street is evocative. I also love the contrast of the skull and the pretty pillows on the cover, it made me laugh! The teaser seemed to come straight from Marry Poppins! I hope you enjoy this one! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great week!

Tuesday Teaser
I love a good cozy!
ReplyDeleteSounds like something I want to curl up with on a rainy day with a cup of tea and a cat on my lap. Here is my TT http://www.readinggrrl.com/2015/03/teaser-tuesday_24.html
ReplyDeleteA glass of wine and a skull on the cover? Of course I'd keep reading :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, those opening lines gave me a little chill...I can't wait to find out what happens next. I love that cover, too. Thanks for sharing...and here's mine: “SUMMER SECRETS”
ReplyDeleteEw. I've smelled that smell before, and it isn't pleasant. I do like the intro though and would keep reading.
ReplyDeleteI like this intro, and I'd keep reading!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy mysteries and love quilting, so this sounds like a great book for me! The author did a good job of setting the scene and creating a creepy atmosphere in the opening. Sounds like a good book.
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday post features DEVIOUS.
I had to look this one up at GR, and it sounds pretty good. Mine: Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs
ReplyDeleteSounds good, Yvonne. Mine this week is also a series mystery: http://wp.me/pZnGI-lC
