The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.
Happy Weekend Everyone!
Once again I'm sending out good thoughts and prayers to all those in the path of a hurricane. This one is Hurricane Irma. Although I'm in New York, most of my family is directly in the path. So, I've been a nervous wreck this week and watching The Weather Channel non-stop.
Not too much going on here otherwise. I was too pre-occupied this week by the hurricane news to participate in any of my usual weekly memes. Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things next week. I have continued with my reading and watching some of my programs (when I need a Weather Channel break).
I picked up a few more Kindle freebies. That "one click button" is kind of addicting :) I seem to be getting a mix of genres lately - in addition to my favorite cozy mysteries, I've been getting romance and suspense. Some I realized after were from series, so I'll eventually have to get the books before them. A couple of Christmas books already made it into my review list. I know publishers get these out before December, but it still feels too early to me. We haven't even gotten to October yet. It's hard enough seeing the Halloween candy out in the stores.
As far as TV goes, I've been watching Zoo and Midnight, Texas. Both are really good. I've also still been binging on Nurse Jackie on Netflix. I didn't realize how good this show was. Too bad it's no longer on the air, but it did have 7 seasons. I'm in season 4.
I do pray for all those in the way of any danger from hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, etc. etc. It's an unbelievable time for everyone. Take care and stay safe all!
Yvonne

I'm finished reading...
I picked up a few books for my Kindle. They were all freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are.
These books are all coming up for review requests and blog tours:
I just went freebie crazy
ReplyDeleteI finally got a copy of The Summer That Made Us...I also started watching Nurse Jackie. Even though I saw the whole thing while it was on Showtime, I like the idea of watching it again in a "binge" style.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...hopefully the storms will stop wreaking havoc.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Awesome list of new reads! I hope you'll enjoy them once you read them. Have a wonderful week week and happy reading. :)
ReplyDeleteWe watch The Zoo too, it is a good show. Glad you are still enjoying Nurse Jackie. I am praying for all in Florida.
ReplyDeleteI'm glued to the Weather Channel too. Irma looks terrifying. We're in Alabama which is out of harm's way but they're expecting storms and rain to be so severe that my daughter's university which is in the southern part of the state cancelled classes. I really want to try Midnight, Texas. I've been wanting to read the books but I've been intrigued by the show too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHair Brained. That cover and title cracked me up. LOL Very nice haul of books. Me wants:) I've been preoccupied by Irma too. I'm far enough west that I think I'm okay but it keeps shifting track. Thoughts and prayers for you and for your family in Florida.
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
Lots of great books coming up! And I need to check out Midnight Texas.
ReplyDeleteI foolishly started subscribing to a list that sends me the names of all e-books on sale each week. That's not good. Oddly many of them are on my wish list. How can that be?!

Yes, my family is all in the path, and I am in the midwest, so I've been watching the news non-stop too. Hopefully everyone took shelter and is safe.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your family is in Irma's path. I pray they are safe and that you get peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteWow! Lots of great books you got here! I'm sorry to hear about your family. I hope they stay safe during the hurricane.

Those freebies area so hard to resist!
ReplyDeleteI try to stay away from the Kindle freebies. I have over 1000 books on my Kindle now and really want to read what I already have. Free books now have to be in series I already read or by authors I already read. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI had to quit watching the weather channel too. Thankfully, my mom and I were able to stay on the phone through the worst of the storm. Looking forward a good nights sleep tonight!
ReplyDeleteThe Bad Hair Day mystery series looks good. I'm adding the first one to my wishlist. Come see what I'm reading
