The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now a Facebook group.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.
Happy Weekend!
After several days of near 60 degree temperatures, we are now getting snow. They are saying we'll have accumulations of 4-7 inches. Then, back to 60 degrees. So, if nothing else, the snow shouldn't be sticking around too long. It's just weird weather, I guess.
I finished listening to Alec Baldwin's audio book and now I'm listening to Mackenzie Phillips' book. I'm finding celebrity memoirs are interesting. I still have to write my review of Baldwin's book. Has anyone listened to any others lately? Do you have any recommendations? I'm always looking for good audio books to listen to in the car.
I downloaded a few more freebies for my Kindle. They are so addicting. I'm not even sure I'll ever get around to reading all of these freebies, but I'm not hurting anyone by getting them :) A pretty safe addiction :)
As for my TV viewing...no new primetime TV shows are airing right now because of the Olympics. I've done some binge-watching on Netflix. I watched Grace and Frankie in two days. Great show. So funny. I watched the first few episodes of Altered Carbon and that's good. I'm not sure what will be next after that.
Other than that, it's been pretty quiet around here. I hope you all have a great week.
Yvonne

These books are all coming up for blog tours in the next couple of months:
I'd like to listen to Mackenzie Phillips' memoir. I hope to watch a bit of TV or a movie soon. Have a terrific weekend, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteIt’s been quiet around here, too. I’ve just been reading and watching the Olympics. Have a great week, and enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It is weird when it snows and then warms up- it's done that here too although we haven't been near 60 in a while. I've watched a few episodes of Altered Carbon and I really need to finish it.
ReplyDeleteMurder by the Pool and The French Girl look good too.
Oh, I binged Grace and Frankie too, but I have yet to start Altered Carbon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't help but check some of the amazon free books too - and I get so many of them!

A pretty sage addiction too :) I guess you're helping the authors by downloading them, cause it increases the number of purchases... or something :)
ReplyDeleteAnd we also have blankets upon blankets of snow!
Have a great week :)
My favorite memoirs are the celebrity ones, and I want to read the Alec Baldwin book. I read (and loved) High on Arrival a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI also love author memoirs.
Enjoy your books, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I also love Grace & Frankie!
DeleteIt's almost 80 and sunny here. Enjoying it while it lasts as I just came in from catching some rays while reading. I like the way you think. It's not hurting anyone to grab those freebies! LOL Enjoy all of your fabulous new books.
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I need to find the Mackenzie Phillips book - I always liked her and like you, I find celebrity memoirs fascinating. I would recommend one by Ice T (which I forget the name) and The Most Beautiful by Mayte Garcia (about her relationship with Prince).
ReplyDeleteLoved Grace and Frankie and wonder what happens next with them. This weather is crazy, looking forward to when it is warm!
ReplyDeleteThe weather hasn't decided what it wants to be one day it's cold and the next summer. After Hours sounds good, I may check that one out. have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWe'll watch Altered Carbon after the Olympics. Snow on Sunday, in the 70s on Wednesday! Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI just listened to Neil Patrick Harris' Choose Your Own Autobiography and enjoyed it though didn't love it. Have you listened to Kunal Nayyir's Yes My Accent is Real? He's on The Big Bang Theory but I think it'd be interesting even if you aren't a fan of the show. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI don't read memoirs or listen to audiobooks. Those two people are, at least, people I've heard of which would make their stories more interesting to me. We had snow yesterday and are having more today. It's pretty and I can stay home to just watch it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLike you I got a few freebies and a few cheapies this week from the Kindle store. I don't usually but I thought like yourself its no skin off my nose even if I never read them but most likely will.
ReplyDeleteI've been working through the Booktown mysteries as audio books. I just finished Title Wave and loved it. Now I'm listening to Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Corva. A recent really good audiobook I read was the Flying Troutmans.
ReplyDeleteMy post this week.
