The Weekend Review - May 11th-13th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  I hope you all have a beautiful day.  This weekend seems to be a mixed bag.  Saturday was beautiful, but rain is coming on Sunday.  We sure are getting alot of rain this year.

Not such a good reading week for me.  I was all over the place - reading bits and pieces of all different books.  I really need to concentrate more.  Hopefully this will be a better week.  On the TV front, I'm very slowly catching up on my shows.  I did enjoy the season finales of Blue Bloods and The Resident.  The networks announced which shows will be coming back next season.  Most of my shows are coming back.

So many of my upcoming reads have summery covers.  I love summery covers.  They make me feel happy :)  Do any of you ever read books based solely on the covers?  I never used to but lately I've been tempted.  I think it's because the cozy mystery genre has such great covers for all seasons.

Not much else to report this week.  I hope you all have a great week!

Here are this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.  Not too many this week.

These books are coming up for reviews and/or blog tours in the next couple of months:

  1. I love the covers and the titles of cozy mysteries. The titles are always so snarky. I'm ready for a little lighter reading after finishing three nonfiction books last week.

We've had a deluge of rain the past few days. My poor brother got a little water in his house. Frustrating.

    Have a great week!

  9. You do have some good covers and yes, cozy mysteries often have attractive, colorful covers.

Happy breading and have a good week!

  10. You have a lot of tempting books. I loved Sunset Beach and really want to read My Ex-Best Friend's Wedding.

Today I have a doctor's appointment, a look-see at a potential place for me to live (there is availability) and all I want is to be settled, healthy, and curled up with my shows. LOL

  12. Since I read mainly on my Kindle, covers aren't part of my decision to read a book. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  13. Covers occasionally really pull me in. And sometimes I discover a new author that way. And if not the cover it could be a title that does it.

  15. I’m also having concentration problems. Life has been so stressful lately that it’s hard to sit still and read. Have a great week!
