The Weekend Review - November 23rd-25th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend!

I can't believe this is Thanksgiving week in the US.  The last month of the year will probably fly by too.

I'm still getting used to my new house and have a long way to go to unpack.  Now, I'm waiting for some furniture to get here before I can finish setting things up.  That's okay...a break from unpacking is a good thing :)  Even when the furniture gets here, I still won't be finished unpacking but that's okay.

I did finish a couple of books this week and caught up on some TV.

Now I need to concentrate on organizing my reading challenges for next year.  I still plan to host the three I annually host - Cruisin' thru the Cozies, What An Animal, and The Purrfect Reading Challenges.  I have to set them all up on my blog and my Goodreads groups.  I, also, want to join a few challenges.  Even though I don't always complete them, I do enjoy participating in them.  I have a couple that I traditionally join - not as many as I used to join, but still a few.  I don't think I will complete my Goodreads challenge this year, but the year isn't over just yet!

I'm hoping for some normalcy in my life now that I'm in the new house.  Although it will take awhile to totally get settled in, I'm going to start enjoying this "downsized" life and do the things I love - mainly reading and blogging.

I hope all that are celebrating Thanksgiving this week have a great holiday and I hope all have a great week!

  1. We are carefully trying to prep our house for our old age which includes shucking off unnecessary things. I am glad you are taking the unpacking slowly. It's a big job.

Your challenges sound like fun. I always set my Goodreads challenge low enough that, even in an off year, I will meet it. I also focus on perpetual challenges so I don't feel panicky if I don't meet them at the end of the year.

I suddenly find myself in the mood to read some Christmas stories! Christmas from the Heart sounds lovely.

    Have a great week!

  2. Ack, I haven’t given a thought to challenges for next year yet.

Wishing you a great reading week

  3. I think you're very wise doing the unpacking in stages. Sometimes you need to inhabit a house for a while before you know where the best place will be for particular objects:))

  4. Moving is a job that's never done and I think breaking it up a little is such a good idea! Especially with Thanksgiving being this week. The Last Affair looks really good and nice and creepy! Have a great week!

  5. Good luck unpacking. I haven't had to do that in 20 years. You tend to keep things you end up tossing later.

Good luck in choosing your reading challenges. You have a lot of fun and interesting looking books this week.

    Have a nice Thanksgiving.

  6. I also love participating in challenges but I'm rarely successful! I think I like planning out what I would read more than actually completing the challenges :)

  7. I don't sign up for challenges because I know I won't really participate, but it is nice seeing all the challenges and they usually make me think of reading outside my comfort zone. Happy Thanksgiving! See what I've been reading at Girl Who Reads

  8. I really enjoyed the Last Affair - twisty. I listened to the audio. I am doing less challenges this year. I am sometimes frustrated that I am not yet finished unpacking but it's a process. I hope we get more unpacked over the holiday weekend. Enjoy the weekends and happy reading!

  9. I'm debating reading challenges for next year too... Can't believe it's that time again!

If you celebrate, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. (It's not something we have here.)
