The Weekend Review - March 28-30th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

I hope everyone is staying well and safe with the craziness going on all around the world.  It's certainly a strange time for all of us, to say the least.

My week ended on a very sad note.  My 10 year old kitty, Trudy, suddenly became sick. She was having trouble breathing and in pain in one day. We took her to the vet and it turned out she had kidney failure, a stomach mass, and cancer (they took blood work and x-rays).    We had no choice but to let her go.  I'm heartbroken and still kind of in shock.  As you all know, our pets become part of the family.

I'm going to cut this short because it took everything out of me just to post the news.  I'm trying to distract myself with books and TV (no news because that just upsets me even more).

I hope you are all doing well.  Stay safe everyone!

Yvonne

  6. I'm very sorry to hear about your cat, Yvonne. These are stressful times, and a loss like this is terrible. I am finding that I need to do very light and easy things or I become overwhelmed with anxiety. Even reading has been difficult lately. I am sending prayers and good thoughts your way.

  11. I'm so sorry to hear about Trudy! Losing them is always hard but when it's so unexpected it's even worse. :(

I think I need to avoid the news for now too.
I've been glued for two weeks and it's drained me down to nothing. This week, I'm keeping it switched off.

  15. Sorry about your kitty. *Hugs.* The same thing happened to my dog 2 years ago. We thought she had arthritis because she was struggling to get around, but it turned out she had blood cancer.
