The Weekend Review - May 16th-18th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

I hope you all are having a great week.  More and more stores and restaurants are re-opening here.  Mostly we've still been sticking close to home.

This weekend is our 33rd wedding anniversary.  So the restaurants re-opened just in time :)

I only finished one book this week, but it was a good one.  I finished watching my TV shows... Survivor had their finale.  I thought this was a good season.  How To Get Away With Murder ended their season and series.  Even the soaps are coming to an end.  General Hospital only has four episodes left.  Hopefully I will get in more reading time with all the shows ending.

I saw a "new-to-me" show on Netflix called Into the Night.  It only has 6 episodes but I thought it was really good.  Similar to the TV show Lost.

There's not too much else going on around here.  How was your week?  Read anything good?  Watch any good shows or movies?  I hope you all have a great week and stay safe!

Yvonne

  1. Happy anniversary!!! Things are reopening here a little but our stay at home is still in place until end of May. I imagine they're going to relax it more after that. But people here are out in DROVES from what I'm hearing...

I might try that new Netflix program.

    Your books look fun.

  2. Happy anniversary! Hope you had a lovely time. Things are starting to open here slowly but with so many restrictions we are pretty much staying home as well. Hope you have a great week!

  3. Happy anniversary! <3
Similar to what season of Lost? I loved that show, but I hated the way it ended...
I've been bingeing on Casa del Papel, and I love it! So well done.
Have a wonderful week ahead, stay safe and healthy.

    1. Into The Night's premise is similar to the premise of Lost, not any specific season. I wasn't thrilled with the way Lost ended either, but it was okay.

  4. Happy weekend and 33rd anniversary to you, too! And how fortuitous that the restaurants are starting to re-open just in time for you celebrate.

This week, I have been watching True Blood and Killing Eve, and watched the brilliant cyberpunk action film, Alita: Battle Angel. While I am currently re-reading the stunning Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

I hope the coming week is a good one for you, take care and happy reading/viewing! 😃

  5. How do you feel about the ending of HTGAWM? I am not happy with the death of some of the characters even though it made sense. They were my favorites.

I am currently watching Dead to me on Netflix.

    1. I don't want to give anything away in case someone hasn't watched HTGAWM yet, but I felt the same way you did. I've seen the first season of Dead to Me and will get around to the second season.

  6. Happy anniversary! I hope you were able to find a way to celebrate big. Things are opening up here, too, but we are just now daring to do curbside pickup. I still have a tiny bit of that lingering cough and I don't want anyone to get sick from me.

We have enjoyed the very silly show The Good Place during the pandemic. I will look for Into the Night. It's funny what a big deal watching a show in the evening is when you can't leave your house!

I hope you have a good week.

  13. You finished HELLO SUMMER in the nick of time. Where do you live where the restaurants are open? I think I'd stay away unless I could sit outside. I guess the examples of how the virus spread I've seen are often related to eateries. My Sunday Salon and Coronavirus Diary
