The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you all have a great weekend to celebrate.
We're still in lockdown, but things are starting to open up here. Next week more things start to open and I just hope everyone continues with the social distancing guidelines. This virus is far from gone.
I only finished two books this week. I've started to walk again for my exercise and that has given me a chance to try audio books again. I'm listening to a cozy mystery now, but it takes longer to complete since I only listen when I'm walking. I'm finding it much easier to listen while walking than when I used to listen in the car. In the car there were too many outside things to concentrate on. When I'm walking, not so much. We'll see how this goes.
I'm still trying to stay away from NetGalley and Edelweiss but I'm hopeless. I should probably just concentrate on keeping to a reading schedule, but I'm such a moody reader. At some point, I want to get back to just reading whatever I want, whenever I want. Sticking to deadlines is difficult for me.
I found a show on Amazon that I've been enjoying. It's called Upload. It's an interesting premise - a dead guy trying to maintain a relationship with a woman who is still alive. I already finished the first season. I read it was renewed for a second season so I'll wait to see that. Now I'll check out season 2 of After Life, which stars Ricky Gervais. I enjoyed the first season of After Life.
Other than that, I continue to make my way through my books and shows. I hope you all have a great week.
Take care and stay safe!
Yvonne

Your book selections always make me so happy. :) I know what you mean about staying away from NetGalley and Edelweiss; so hard! I can definitely see it being easier to listen to books while walking than driving.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, and happy reading!
I'm trying for happy books these days :) I hope you enjoy your reading. Stay safe!
DeleteI just signed up for Netgalley. I got a pdf of my first book, but can't figure out how to open it in Kindle.
ReplyDeleteThere's a free program on Amazon called Send to Kindle. You can send it to your Kindle and then just open it as you would any other book. That's the way mine works, unless yours is different. PDF files can be tricky. I usually get them in mobi format.
DeleteI feel the same way. Things are starting to loosen up (although here we're technically still shelter-in-place but I know a lot of people are out and about) and I just hope we don';t get an even worse 2nd wave.
ReplyDeleteUpload sounds interesting.
I love those covers!
I hope you continue to enjoy your walks and audio listening! I am usually not alone on my walks and so cannot listen then. It's been ages since I last listened to the audio book I have going . . I've seen ads for Upload and would like to give it a try. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the first season, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteMy state is starting to open up slowly. We're all holding our breath to see what happens. Such a scary time.
I hope you have a great week. Stay safe and well.
I haven't done well exercising since the Y closed. We walk, but I miss swimming and yoga. I don't like doing yoga online. It's not the same.
ReplyDeleteI am not a NetGalley person either. I seem to forget about books unless I can see them on a table.
Your book covers look especially cheery today. Look at Hello, Summer. I think we are all longing for that.
Have a good week.
Oh, and we started watching Upload last week, too. Glad to see you liked it so much. We've only watched one episode so far.
ReplyDeleteI think we are all moody readers right now. I am thankful for the downtime and I'm getting to read some great books. Good for you getting out and walking! We need to do more especially since we are cooking all our favorite eats.
ReplyDeleteTake care and happy reading!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
It's a slow reopening here too. So many people are coming out! I went a little crazy on Netgalley. Now to find time to read them all. LOL
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of trying to avoid NetGalley and feeling like it's hopeless. Good luck! LOL!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
My state is starting to open up too. People are staying away from each other, but nobody wears a mask. (Except me.) I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I finally got caught up on Netgalley and am trying to refrain from requesting, but if our library doesn't open soon all bets are off. Looking forward to the Mary Kay Andrews book.
ReplyDeleteI have added Hello, Summer to my list...and also want to read The House That Vanity Built.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Our state is doing cautious opening by county. Because my county is sort of the hot spot in the state, it is going to be quite some time before we start opening up. Oh well...more reading time!
ReplyDeleteI like listening while I walk too but I also listen when I'm just sitting home playing computer games on those days when it's too chilly for me to walk outside. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm very much a mood reader so I don't plan out books too far ahead of time. What platform do you us for listening to audio books. I recently started reading on a Kindle and am loving it. I've also thought about starting to listen to audio books. I hope you can stop by:

I've seen the previews for Upload and it looks fun. We've been watching a lot of British crime shows on Amazon Prime and enjoying them. You have some great books coming up! I loved The House that Vanity Built and all your upcoming cozies sound fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much only listen to audiobooks when I'm walking so it is slower but its good. I do sometimes find my mind tracks away but I just live with that and pick up on the story!
ReplyDeleteWe binged Upload last week and liked it.
ReplyDeleteI’m over scheduled as usual. I just started on May’s ARCs and we are half way through the month.
Wishing you a great reading week, stay well x
