The Weekend Review - February 27th-March 1st

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Team Tynga's Reviews.

Hi Everyone!  Happy Weekend!

March is almost here and time continues to fly.  Another week of not much exciting happening here.  I'm still waiting to hear when I'll be eligible for the Covid vaccine.  I'm hoping it's soon.

I finished two books this week.  I continue to listen to cozy mysteries on audio while I walk each day.  I'm really enjoying it.  So much easier to listen while walking instead of in the car.  It's helping me to read cozy series I've been wanting to read but haven't had time.

As for TV watching, it's been the usual shows The Blacklist, This Is Us and the NCIS shows.  Mostly I've been enjoying my books this week.

What's been going on in your corner of the world?  Anything new?  Hope you all have a great week!

  3. Ooo listening to cosy mysteries as you walk sounds lovely, Yvonne and I hope it won't be long till your eligible to have your vaccine. My grandparents have had theirs and my dad got a letter to say his should be in the next two weeks.

This week I have been reading the historical-romance The Memory Tree by John A. Heldt and the short, fantasy comedy Eric by Terry Pratchett. While I have been watching the dark, historical-mystery The Alienist and re-watching fantasy fun Merlin.

Take care and happy reading, listening and viewing in the coming week. 🙂

  4. I always walk with my husband or my friends (pre-Covid) so I've never listened to audiobooks while I walk, but that sounds lovely.

We aren't sure what's up next, tv-wise. We've just finished seven seasons of All Creatures Great and Small (old series) and we don't know what we plan to watch next.

    Death by Dumpling? Love it!

  6. I'm not sure when they're rolling out vaccines for non-essential workers in my province here in Canada, so who knows? I hope you'll get yours soon.

Happy reading, and have a great month!

  10. Death by Dumpling looks like it would be fun. I love that cover! I loved to listen to audiobooks when I'm driving long distance or working on a new crafting item. It helps the time go by a lot faster, and I'm able to do two things at once which is nice

  11. I'm not a big cozy mystery reader, but I always love their titles! I like to listen to audiobooks in my car, so in a way I'm glad to be driving to work every day of the week again. Enjoy your new books!

  12. It's a lot of the same old same old around here too. I think we might be eligible in June for ours, according to a recent email I got. I am hoping that my husband is able to get his a little sooner, he has been an essential worker through this whole year.

I am intrigued by the book The Invisible Husband of Frick Island!

  13. It's crazy that March is pretty much here already. My doctor told me I probably wouldn't be eligible for the vaccine until fall this year or sometime next year.

  14. Thanks for the reminder. I need to get caught up with This Is Us. I forget why, but I missed last week's episode.

  15. I am glad you have been enjoying listening to cozies while you walk! I usually have my daughter and husband with me on my walks, so it's not as easy to listen then. They want to talk. LOL

I hope you are enjoying your reading! Oakley's new books is one I have been eyeing. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

    Have a great week, Yvonne!

  21. I'm also waiting to hear when I can get vaccinated. So far, no news. But I'm hoping now that there is a 3rd vaccine, things will move a bit faster. I would really love to be vaccinated by April, which is when my kids are supposed to go back to school in a hybrid format. - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

  22. We just discovered my husband is eligible for the vaccine because of the company he works for and I'm so excited. I've seen some theories that I'm eligible as an unpaid health caregiver because Will is so vulnerable but am not sure. Luckily we can isolate pretty easily. The Vivien Chien looks great! I've read one book in that series and really enjoyed it and I really want to read the Maria DiRico books. Have a great week!

  23. Nothing new here!
I think I need to try walking with an audio book. I can’t concentrate on them at home but find it easier if I’m walking
