The Weekend Review - May 8th-10th

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to  Stacking The Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  I hope you are all enjoying your special day.

Overall, a quiet week.  Nothing exciting happened, but that's a good thing.  I don't need any excitement.  The weather is really getting hotter here all the time and my walking is getting limited.  I just can't do it in heat, but that's okay.  There will be other times when the weather is cooler.

I only finished one book this week but it was a good one.  I tend to organize and re-organize my reading schedules and TBR more than actually reading.  I have to stop that.  LOL

My TV viewing has been good watching The Resident, The Blacklist, Grey's Anatomy, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire and there are so many others that I can't remember.  The TV season will soon be coming to an end which means more reading time for me.

That's about it from sunny Florida.  I hope you all have a great week!

  3. We were determined to walk every day during the pandemic when we couldn't go anywhere else, so, to beat the heat, we would wake up at 5 and walk at 6.

I'm busily planning my summer reading schedule. I decided to do the 20 Books of Summer, but with a twist to read on my 1001 Children's Books list, and to read 20 books each month of summer. I'm pretty sure I can do it.

Your life looks lovely to me!

  4. You have a lot of tempting books! I am glad for Netflix, Hulu, and Prime for those times between TV seasons.

Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES

  5. Quiet weeks can be nice. People keep talking about relax but if you're anything like me, energy is the name of the game. But it can be a chance to examine a life in a new direction.

  10. Oh lord no...no walking in the heat and/or humidity. And I, too, spend more time organizing my reading than reading. LOL

  11. Hi Yvonne! I still need to join Friday Felines and Friendly Fill ins. It does look like fun.

I took a look at The Cargoyle's Secret on Amazon, but it's not free any more. Will keep an eye out. It seems cute!

Hope you will have a good week!

  14. I love the cover of Peaches and Schemes! The Invisible Husband Of Frick Island is ordered and I'm patiently waiting for it. I'll be checking out Ruff Justice, I love books about dogs and don't know why I don't read them often.

  15. I totally get what you are saying about reorganizing your TBR and reading schedule--I do that too! Now, if only I could be so into organizing my house....

  17. I love summer and I'm so glad it is getting warmer. Yes, August in Louisiana is HOT but I even like it--I sit on my back porch and read and not get cold.

  18. I like a nice, quiet week. I also need to sort through and weed my physical TBR pile. I'm sure there are quite a few there that I no longer want to read. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
