The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host! It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!
I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hi Everyone!
Another quiet week here. Well, I did finally go for my CT scan, so that day was busy :) Now I just wait for the doctor to review and find out where we go from here. I'll probably know more later in the week and then I can make more plans for my blog.
I only finished one book this week. It was a good one. The book I'm currently reading is Purr & Poison by Elle Wren Burke and it's really good. It, of course, helps to have a cat involved :) I'm really behind on my Goodreads challenge but I'm using my August hospital stay as an excuse, if I don't finish the challenge this year. Still, I have a couple of months to catch up.
I'm hoping to watch some thriller movies leading up to Halloween. Problem is, I've seen most of them and the newer ones haven't really interested me. Anyone have any recommendations?
We only had one cool day this week and I took advantage of it and walked. I even listened to an audiobook, but then the weather got hot and humid again so I haven't had a chance to go back to it.
Not much new around here. I hope you all have a great week!
I re-watched The Talented Mr Ripley today, which held up pretty well. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way wanting to see some thrillers. I watched an old favorite Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein the other day- that was a nostalgia fest. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get the results back quickly. The waiting game is never fun, but it is worse when you know answers are close.
ReplyDeleteWe've definitely moved into Autumn/Winter here so the heat is gone, but I'm enjoying the chance to cool down a bit! I hope you get news from your doctor about the scan first and also hope you don't feel too much pressure about the reading challenge! It's meant to be fun, after all :) I hope you have a lovely week :)

I hope you'll hear more from your doctor soon. It's the worse to have to wait around on news like that. Have a great week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHope next week is filled with good news and good reads for you.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, you will hear from your doctor and plans can be made very, very soon.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some recommendations for scary movies for this month!
I've been binge watching shows, but not any new thrillers. Hope you have a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteWe watched Arsenic and Old Lace every year for a decade or so. It was a fun tradition, but even that can get old after enough viewings.

I grabbed The Cupcake Cottage, too. The hockey sweet romance theme is what drew me to it. I have an ARC of Purrs and Poison and that will be my next read after I finish my current ARC. It looks like such a fun book. Wishing you a wonderful week! :)
ReplyDeleteWhether you hit your Goodreads goal or not, count it as a win! You have been reading and will continue to read, so it's all good. Some things are just beyond our control. I hope you do not have to go through surgery, and hope you hear something soon, so you can have peace of mind. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to read more and walk a bit.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.

I hope your results are good and you don't have to wait long to get them. xO
ReplyDeleteGetting the scan is one step closer... hope the results come quickly. Glad you were able to get out and walk. You have to take advantage of those cooler days when they come!
ReplyDeletePurrs and Poison, it sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get good news from the doctor. Meanwhile, may you have cooler weather, and so may we!
Praying your CT scan results are good. I just watched a sort of horror comedy on Amazon the other day.. just to kill the time. It was no masterpiece but it passed the time just fine...
ReplyDeleteHope the results are good. Have a great week!

Sorry to hear that it's still so very hot and humid in your neck of the woods. While we've had the most amazingly mild autumn so far - the weather is now definitely turning wetter and cooler. Best of luck with the results of your scan, Yvonne.
ReplyDeleteI hope your CT results lead to some answers for you. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeletePraying for good news from your doctor. Your new books sound great. Hope you enjoy them.

I hope your CT scan brings good news. And don't worry about your Goodreads challenge. (I think you can even adjust your goal if you choose.)
ReplyDeleteI don't have any thriller movies to recommend. My lead-up-to-Halloween watching this year is A Discovery of Witches.
By the way, will there be a NetGalley & Edelweiss Challenge next year? I hope so! (And a link-up post for this month, when you get a chance? Thank you!)
May your weather improve and your health as well. Enjoy your reading this week!
Yes, I do plan to do a 2024 NetGalley & Edelweiss Challenge too. Thank you for the October reminder. I totally forgot and it's up now.
DeleteHave a great week!
Fingers crossed you got good answers from the CT scan results. I've had to adjust my Goodreads goal more than once in years past. Sometimes life just gets in the way. I hope you've had a great week!
