The Weekend Review - September 30th-October 2nd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

I really don't see how it can be October already, but here we are.  I didn't get much reading done as I was getting blood tests and seeing doctors.  I try to read in the waiting rooms, but I can never seem to concentrate.  I have a CT scan this week and I'm hoping after this week they will have all the results and I'll know more of what's happening.

I put together the books I want to read in October, but I think I was too ambitious.  We'll see 😀   As for my blog, I'm still sticking with posting every Sunday and setting up whatever blog tours I've already agreed to.  I'll still be reviewing everything I read even if it's not part of a blog tour.  So, I'm still semi-active in the blogging world.

I only finished one book this week, but it's a good one.  I do enjoy my cozy mysteries the best and I really like Lucy Lakestone's series.  I'm reading a really good one now by a new-to-me author.

The only TV show I watched this week was Survivor.  I'm glad to see this show return.  With the writer's strike over, I'm hoping the rest of the shows will come back soon but the actors are still on strike, so I don't know.

Not much else to report this week.  So, how has your week been?  Read or see anything good?  I hope you all have a great week!

Blog Tours/Spotlights/Reviews/Giveaways Coming Up Next Week

Tuesday:  Spotlight:  Hanging by a Thread by Dorothy Howell (Blog Tour/Tour-Wide Giveaway)

Posts last week:

Nothing this week!

I'm currently reading...

I finished reading ...

This is my line up for October.  Some are carryovers from September.  I'm sure this list will change, but for now, this is what I'm hoping to read.  Kind of looks like an overwhelming list.

Here is this week's Kindle freebie haul. They were freebies when I got them, I don't know if they still are. Always make sure to check they are still free before buying. The prices change quickly.

  1. Only one cross over for me with October plans - Murder by the Seashore.

I think we are still aways from scripted shows coming back like normal. Even if the actor's strike ends this coming week (and they will resume negotiations on Monday), it takes a while for scripts to be written and production to be ready to film. Then there's filming and post production. So we wait. But my TV schedule is pretty full right now, so that's not an issue for me.

  3. I hope that the doctors are able to finally put together the results of all your tests to come up with a plan for you. Sending good thoughts and prayers, Yvonne.

It's got to be rough trying to read in doctors' waiting rooms. I hope you are able to find some very compelling books to overcome the difficulties in doing that.

  6. Really hoping you get some answers very soon regarding your health, Yvonne. It looks like you've a lovely tranche of books lined up for October - and I think your decision to just relax and read and review when you can is the best:)). Have a good week.

  8. Looks like you have some good books lined up for October. I always overestimate how much I can get done and I also switch gears sometimes and read something I hadn't planned on reading. Still, having a plan helps me stay focused even if I don't stick to it. I hope everything goes smoothly for you this week and you're able to focus on some reading. :-)

  15. I hope you start getting some answers and feeling better. It's hard to read in waiting rooms. Usually my anxiety is high in those environments anyway. You grabbed some great freebies this past week and I love the cover of Eat, Pray, Hex.
