The Weekend Review - February 1st-3rd

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

If you'd like to participate with The Sunday Salon, it is now being hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a meme with a new host!  It's now being hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. This is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from!

I'm also linking to Stacking the Shelves which is hosted by Reading Reality.

Hi Everyone!

Happy February! This was an uneventful week for me.  I'm not quite sure where the time went.  I only finished one book, but I think I spent most of my time on the computer and organizing my books.  I need to spend more time reading.

I, also, watched a couple of my TV shows like Chicago Fire, PD and Med.  Also, the new Dexter and The Pitt.

With the weather in Florida getting better, I've been able to get out and do some walking.  I hope to do more of that but I'm sure humidity time will be here soon enough and then it will be too hot.  It seems like such a small window to be able to walk...either it's too windy/cool or too humid.  Once I'm done with physical therapy, I'm going to use the gym here.  That will be nice and it won't matter what the weather is outside.

I hope everyone has a great week!

  1. I hope you get in some more nice walks! The Pitt looks good, I don't think I have that streaming service though.

    1. It was good, but I've always been a Barbie fan. Mine are collectibles, though. Thanks. You have a great week too!

  3. Curious about Let's Call Her Barbie and wonder if it's a rehash of the movie.

    1. It isn't connected to the movie at all. According to the author, the movie had zero influence on her book and she was almost finished writing it by the time the movie came out.

  4. I've started going to the gym on these cold days. So far I've tried Cycling, Step, and Zumba.

Lots of people seem to have enjoyed the Barbie book. I'm glad.

    1. For me, it's more about liking the author of the Barbie book. She fictionalizes other historical events and I've enjoyed them too. Hopefully I will get to the gym once my PT is over, which I hope will be soon.

  5. I haven't read much this year either, but this week I'm starting to play catch-up. I hope you enjoy all your books!

  6. I hope you get a decent size window to walk. The weather can be so fickle sometimes. Looks like you got lots of good books this week.

  7. I hope the PT is helpful. Lulu makes sure we get out no matter what the weather is except rain. She hates the rain. I've been watching too much tv and need to cut back so I have more reading time.

  8. I spent too much time on the computer this week, too. (And too much time doomscrolling.) I'll try to read more this week. I hope you enjoy your new books and find some more time to read!

    1. Yes! I've been doing the doomscrolling too. I need to get away from the computer. Have a great week!

  9. Hopefully that window of opportunity weather wise will last a little longer! I hate it whe it's either too cool or too muggy!

Hope the PT goes well and you have a nice week :)

  10. I hope the weather improves! I missed a few days of walking because it snowed here. I don't like my feet getting wet and frozen.

  11. I know what you mean about about a small window of opportunity for exercising outside... once that humidity kicks in, it's all over. Hope this nice weather sticks around for a while!

  12. I don't know where my time goes either. It literally vanishes!

I hope that you can continue to go in nice walks. I dread the summer and warmer weather, but thankfully that won't be for a while yet.

A great looking haul of books!

    Have a great week!

  13. I need to spend more time reading too. I have so many I want and need to get read. It was above 50 this weekend here so I did a lot of walking. I’m hoping that things continue this way and I get more walks in. I hope you have a wonderful week!

  14. The walk window here is like there, unless you want to go before sunrise or after sunset. A gym is a great idea as long as you actually go, right?

    1. Exactly! I've belonged to gyms before and never went. Right now, I'm enjoying walking.

  17. Smoked by Scotch. What a title. Yes wind and humidity sure can spoil a walk outside.

  18. If I had the money spare I’d buy a treadmill. Then I could read while I walk!

Wishing you a happy reading week

  19. Enjoy your walks! It is always nice to get fresh air. Smoked by Scotch sounds interesting. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  20. I love walks! Definitely nice to get outside before it gets too hot and buggy to be outside. I do love unexciting weeks - and especially weeks where I get to organize books. I hope you have a wonderful week!
